L'oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation | Available at Walmart.com

L'oreal has just launched a new Infallible foundation called Pro-Glow ($10.97) and it's available now at Walmart.com! I really liked the feel and texture of the Infallible Pro-Matte foundation but unfortunately, it was too drying for my skin the majority of the year. This version is meant for people with normal-dry skin (me!) so I'm really excited!

Here's what the Walmart website says:
  • Up to 24-hour foundation
  • It's pro with an all-day glow
  • The new pro-look of longwear
  • Broad Spectrum SPF 15
  • Radiant finish
  • Normal/dry skin
  • Hydrating
There are 11 shades and they're selling out really fast, so head on over to Walmart.com quickly before they all sell out!

Here's the Scoop on the New Revlon PhotoReady Contour & Highlight Duo

$

A few weeks ago, I spotted the new Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix Contour & Highlight Duos at Bed, Bath & Beyond and I had so many questions!

Is this the same Insta-Fix foundation stick from 2015?

If so, why are they putting a foundation stick in a box and calling it a contouring product?

I already have the foundation stick, why do I have to buy that again just to get the highlighting stick?

Not to mention the price...$16.99 at Bed, Bath, & Beyond means that this will likely be a few bucks more at drugstores. I understand that you're getting two products, but I had a hard time spending that amount of money for one product I already had. It felt like paying $17 for a drugstore highlighter. Still, I was so curious about the whole thing, I picked up the lightest shade combination, which is Fair (there are 6 shades total...see my original post here for photos of the display).
The three lightest shades (Fair, Light, & Light Medium) come with a pearly pink highlighting stick, while the three deeper shades (Medium, Medium Deep, and Deep) come with a bronzy gold highlighter.
Once I opened the package and looked at everything, my questions were (mostly) answered. It turns out that the Insta-Fix foundation stick they included in the Fair duo is actually more of a medium shade...#140 Nude. Here it is next to the original Insta-Fix stick I purchased in the shade #130 Shell (the third lightest shade in the range).
So basically, when you purchase one of these kits, you're going to get a foundation stick that's darker than the shade name on the outside of the kit. That's where the "contouring" aspect comes in. I'm not sure how I feel about it...I'm glad that they included a darker shade to contour with (that makes a lot more sense now), but it's also disappointing that it's not an actual contour stick. It feels kind of like getting jipped that it's just a repackaged Insta-Fix foundation.
Here's what the shades look like on my skin...the foundation stick in Nude #140 is a couple of shades darker than my skin tone and the highlighting stick is pretty, but kind of underwhelming at the same time. I feel like I have a few that are just like this one. It feels creamy and blendable, but again it's a similar formula to others that I already have.

Overall, if you're looking for a drugstore highlighting stick (which is what I was most interested in), there are more affordable options than buying this kit. This particular highlighter isn't unique enough to warrant spending $17 (unless you really want to use both products).
If you're just looking for a drugstore cream highlighter and don't want to purchase this whole kit, I would recommend picking up the Sonia Kashuk Chic Luminosity Highlighter Stick (there's a pink and a gold shade) or the Flower Glisten Up! Highlighter Chubby (one of my faves!) Or, if you're willing to buy online, the L.A. Girl Velvet Contour Sticks have a few highlighter options that are only $5.

What are your thoughts? Do you think it was a good idea for Revlon to create these kits?

The new L'oreal Infallible Sexy Balm ($8.07) has arrived at Asos, so if you don't want to wait for them to hit the drugstores here this summer, you can order them now and have them in a few days (they have free shipping on every order over $40).
I posted about these a few weeks ago, and then again yesterday when I saw sneak peeks on L'oreal's Snapchat, but I didn't really have too much information on them. Now, all my questions have been answered...plus I have some better swatches to show you.

They come in two different finishes...there are three shades of Sexy Balm Bold and five shades of Sexy Balm Sheer. They're all supposed to be a long-lasting, gel-balm texture that's not sticky. The Bold shades have a metallic cap that's opaque, while the Sheer shades have see-through caps...otherwise the packaging is the same.

The Bold version is really pigmented and comes in Never Stop (a pretty coral shade), Adventure (a berry shade) and Yala Yolo (red).
Adventure, Never Stop, Yala Yolo
The swatches look amazing...you can almost see how hydrating these are, and the color payoff looks fantastic!

There are five shades of the Sheer version, and Asos is sold out of one of the shades (As if!) but it's swatched below so at least you can see what it looks like.
As you can see by the swatches, these are a bit more sheer, but still look every bit as hydrating.
Go Pretty or Go Home!, Break The Rules, Gossip, Such a Babe

Asos has free worldwide standard delivery on every order over $40, so if you've had your eye on these, it's totally worth getting them now online instead of waiting for them to show up in drugstores. I might grab a few myself!

Wen 613 Review & Giveaway

$

I've been using Wen for about two years now and although I've tried many of the different scents and formulas, 613 is by far my favorite. The lemon, rosemary, & vanilla bean scent is just so delicious...it's warm and fresh at the same time, not too sweet, and very spa-like. It's also the most nourishing of all the Wen formulas, perfect for my drier skin and hair. I recently had the opportunity to test out more products from line courtesy of QVC (I had previously used only the Cleansing Conditioner and Styling Creme) and they are generously giving away an entire set to one Budget Beauty Blog reader, so don't forget to enter the giveaway at the end of this post!

I'm going to go through the products one by one and talk about how I use them. In particular, the cleansing conditioner should be used a certain way to get the best results. I've known a few people who gave up on it because they felt like their hair didn't feel clean or was weighted down (and this goes for all cleansing conditioners, not just Wen). I used to have the same issues, but after watching the Wen presentations on QVC for a while now, I realized that I was just doing it wrong!
First, let's talk about 613 Daily Cleansing Treatment. It's packed with really nourishing ingredients like natural plant oils and extracts, 11 amino acids (which are the building blocks of hair), and protein to make weak, damaged hair stronger and healthier. I only use it once a week because I don't want to add too much protein to my hair...over a long period of time, it can do more damage than good. When I bleach my hair, it can become very stretchy feeling when it's wet and this tells me I need more protein in my hair. When your hair has very little stretch and breaks off easily, you have too much protein in your hair and it can become so strong that it becomes brittle and breaks off (it happened to me once after using too many protein-rich products).
So I use 613 once a week on Sundays as a treatment and either a different Wen conditioner during the week or a regular shampoo and conditioner.  Chaz recommends not using shampoo at all when you're using Wen, but I do like to use a clarifying shampoo once a week to get rid of silicones and build-up in my hair. I just love how this treatment makes my hair stronger, shinier and healthier!

Here's how I use Wen (all types, not just 613):

Step 1: When I get into the shower, I rinse my hair and massage the water through for a full minute to get rid of a lot of the dirt and oil on my hair and scalp. This loosens everything, allowing Wen to do it's job...remember, it's not as stripping as shampoo so this step helps it to clean better.
Step 2: I use about 8-10 full pumps for my hair length...enough to completely saturate my hair. This step is so important! I used to skimp on it, thinking that the recommendation was just a ploy to get people  to use it up faster, but that's not the case at all. I didn't get great results at first because I wasn't using enough product...I can't stress this enough!
Step 3: Add a splash of water...this helps to spread Wen throughout your hair. It won't lather, but adding water will emulsify it a bit.
Step 4: Rinse and repeat! I do a second wash because it helps my fine hair to get super clean...I don't want any added weight.
Step 5: After I apply Wen a second time and emulsify with water, I comb my hair with a wide-tooth comb and leave it in for the rest of my shower.
Step 6: After rinsing, if your hair is dry, you can add a tiny amount back into soaking wet hair as a leave-in conditioner. I only put it from the mid-shaft down.

I also keep a bottle of the 613 Ultra Nourishing Styling Creme right in the shower with me. This is meant to be used on soaking wet hair after cleansing (I only use about a pea-sized amount, maybe a little bit more). It adds so much volume to my hair, it's crazy! Here are some recent photos...the one on the left is what my hair looks like when I don't use this and the photo on the right is when I do. It gives it lots of bounce and movement which I love! I use it even when I use regular shampoo and conditioner.

Before blow drying, I use the 613 Replenishing Treatment Mist on my hair to give it a little bit more moisture and protection. It contains the amino acid complex, vitamins, and botanicals to make your hair soft and shiny. It can also be used on your face and body as a lightweight hydrating treatment mist (and it smells soooo good).

Finally, the 613 Ultra Nourishing Intensive Body Treatment is pure heaven and I'm so happy I finally got to try it. First of all, it has that amazing 613 scent (you can also get in unscented in the 319 version) and it transforms my skin from its usual dry, flaky state to soft, smooth, and buttery. It absorbs so quickly, I didn't think it was going to do much...but then I noticed an hour later that my legs were super soft. I'm seriously in love with this body treatment.

Unfortunately, this value set sold out quickly on the QVC website so it's no longer available, but the individual products are still there if there's something you want to try. Also, I'm giving away the entire collection ($172 value!) featured in this post to one lucky reader, and you can enter below...good luck!

I Really Want to Try More From Cailyn Cosmetics

$

Cailyn Cosmetics is a prestige indie brand that isn't sold in that many places, so I was really excited to see that one of my new favorite sites, BeautyKind carries them now.
I've only tried two Cailyn products so far...the O Wow! Brush I ordered from BeautyKind recently, and also their Tinted Lip Balm that I received in an Ipsy bag a while back, and I've been very impressed by both.
I've been planning a haul and have a few products in mind that I want to try...also don't forget that my BeautyKind discount code, Jen50 is good until August 31...and it'll get you $50 off a $75 order, which is an awesome deal!

So here's what I want to try next:

Pure Lust Absolute Sheer Tint ($19)- This is a sheer lip tint that uses natural colors to give a pretty flush and a glossy finish. They look perfect for summer!

Dizzolve'It Makeup Melt Cleansing Balm ($24)- I love balm cleansers and this one says it warms from a balm into a silky liquid to remove all traces of makeup. It looks like it's more of a whipped texture vs. a solid balm so I'm interested to try it!

BB Aqua Glide ($35)- This claims to be a 3-in-1 beauty balm that primes, moisturizes and covers imperfections. The review I saw on BeautyKind says it has great coverage so I definitely want to try it. I love BB cream in the summer but I like them to have a bit of coverage too.

Tinted Lip Balm ($19)- I tried one of these in an Ipsy bag a while ago and I was so impressed with the formula. It's a balm but it has really rich pigmentation...like a lipstick! It also comes in a cute little container with a built-in brush. The color I have is bright red so I want to grab a more neutral shade for everyday.

O! Circle Brush ($78)-This large brush has over 1 million super soft bristles and is meant to go over your entire face in one sweep, saving you time. It's angled to get into every area of your face...the hollows of eyes, next to nose, etc. I absolutely love the O! Wow brush I got during my last BeautyKind haul (currently out of stock)...it's so soft so I know that this one will be the same way!

Gelux Eyebrow ($22)-  This is a waterproof, 24-hour eyebrow gel that comes in that same cute container as the Tinted Lip Balm with a built-in brush. I love that they have some cooler-toned colors to choose from. My natural hair color is ashy brown and a lot of brow products are too warm for me.

So that's my Cailyn Cosmetics wishlist! If you're interested in any of these products, don't forget to use code Jen50 at BeautyKind.us to get $50 off your first order of $75. You can get the O! Circle Brush for only $28, or, you can grab the Cleansing Balm, BB Cream, and Tinted Lip Balm for $28! Plus, there's free shipping ($5 for 2-day shipping) and 5% of your purchase goes to the charity of your choice. They also give three free samples with every order. It's such an amazing company, I just can't rave about it enough!

Maybelline Summer 2016 Spotted at Walmart

My local Walmart finally got the Maybelline Summer 2016 collection in and I was so happy to see a full display instead of the sad empty one that's been there for a few weeks. I really dislike going to Walmart as it is, so going there every few days to check on this hasn't been a pleasant task. But whew! it's all over now, I can sigh with relief that I don't have to go back for a while. Let's take a look!
maybelline color jolt intense lip paint

All of the new products are integrated into the regular Maybelline displays rather than being set up on an endcap or standing display. The first thing that jumped out at me are the new Color Jolt Intense Lip Paints ($7.73). These are supposed to be a lot like the Too Faced Melted Liquified Lipsticks (check out these great comparison swatches that my pal G. posted on Nouveau Cheap the other day). They appear to have a flocked applicator, just like the Too Faced version as well, so I'll be interested to try these out! Also, there are Shine Shot Lip Top Coats- one is clear and the other is shimmery. Now that glossy lips are back, I'm guessing these are meant to be worn over all those matte lipsticks!

Next, I spotted the new Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighters and Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick Contour & Highlight.

Here's a closer look at the strobing stick shades...Light Iridescent is a pearly pink color, while Medium Nude Glow looks more golden bronze.

The Master Contour sticks come in three shades and have a pointed tip with a highlighter on one side and a contour shade on the other.

Next, I spotted the new Baby Lips Glow Balm. This is one of those pH color transforming products that's supposed to react with your natural chemistry to create your perfect shade of pink. I really like Baby Lips, so I'll definitely try this and review it soon!

Finally, I spotted the Better Skin Skin Transforming Powder. These come in 8 shades and are supposed to reduce the appearance of imperfections, pores, and unevenness.

I should also mention that this powder contains Salicylic Acid, for those who are sensitive to it.

I didn't see the new Color Tattoo Eye Chromes yet, but that's okay with me. I've seen quite a few swatches and I'm just not feeling them...I really wish Maybelline would stop adding new products to the Color Tattoo line and just come out with some new shades of the original Color Tattoos which are awesome!
Sigh...oh well.

Have you spotted the new Maybelline Summer 2016 products in stores yet? Have you tried anything?

Swatches of L'oreal Infallible Pro Glow Foundation

Last night, L'oreal posted swatches of all twelve shades of the new Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation and it's been causing mixed reactions from many people. This foundation hasn't even hit the store shelves yet and it's already sold out on Walmart.com and there's one shade left on Amazon.com...there's such an incredible demand for it!

I wasn't fast enough to get my hands on one at Walmart, but I grabbed one of the last available shades (#204) on Amazon and crossed my fingers that I picked a good one...based on this photo it looks like it'll be close, possibly even match my cooler undertones (at least it's not too yellow)!

All over Instagram, there were a lot of positive comments...everyone who purchased this ended up making a blind buy so it was really nice to see swatches. But there were also a ton of negative comments about the color selection- there aren't many deep shades, and there's not a lot of contrast between the first 8 shades...they all look incredibly similar. On the other end of the spectrum, I did see quite a few comments from very fair skinned people who said they were happy with the colors because it's really hard to find shades that are light enough for them...sometimes the first shade is still too dark or too warm.

So I'd love to hear from you...what do you think of the shade selection? Are you happy with it, or do you feel that they needed a broader shade range?

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Review

colleen rothschild review

You guys know I love drugstore makeup, but when it comes to skincare, I don't mind spending a bit more for high quality formulas that really work and give great results. My philosophy is..."if your skin looks good, your makeup will too", and that holds true, whether you buy drugstore makeup or the fancy stuff from Neiman Marcus. It's taken me a long time and tons of trial and error to figure out what products work for me and I finally have a skincare routine that's been giving me great results.

I'll be doing a separate post on my entire skincare routine, but today I wanted to go a bit more in-depth on two products I discovered more recently by Colleen Rothschild...the Radiant Cleansing Balm($65) and Sheer Renewal Cream($55).  Plus, don't miss my 20% off code at the end of this post that you can use at ColleenRothschild.com if you're interested in any of the products.

colleen rothschild review

First, who is Colleen Rothschild?

I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to beauty products and I always like to know a bit about the person behind the brand, especially when it comes to skincare. I'm more likely to buy a product if I feel that the creator is a true expert in their field, versus a person who just wanted to slap their name on an product without being a part of the actual development. Colleen Rothschild is an industry veteran who has been developing high-quality niche skincare brands for over 20 years, including one of my favorites, C. Booth (her maiden name is Booth). Colleen wanted to develop a line that is "effortless, beautiful, and highly effective" using "time-tested proven ingredients and today's cutting edge technologies" and I think she has definitely done that with the Colleen Rothschild line.

Also I want to mention how much I love the packaging! The frosted jars and brown tubes are simple and minimalist, yet really elegant and luxurious-looking.

Radiant Cleansing Balm:

I was really excited to try the Radiant Cleansing Balm after seeing a lot of people on YouTube and Instagram raving about it. It contains a beautiful aromatic complex of warm cloves and rosemary plus luxurious oils such as Marula, Moringa, Loofah Seed and Black Seed to give your skin a dose of antioxidants, clear congested pores, and renew the outer layer skin cells. It feels really soft and melts into an oil when it comes in contact with your skin to remove all traces of makeup easily.

Here's how to use it:

Scoop out a little bit of the balm and massage it into dry skin. Wet the muslin cloth (which is included) under hot water and wring it damp. Then, place it over your face for a minute and breathe in the aromatic complex. It's so soothing and feels like a spa treatment! Then, use the cloth to remove the balm and all your makeup comes off with it.
After using this balm, my skin feels super soft, smooth and hydrated. Using the soft muslin cloth helps to remove the balm so there's no oily residue and I don't feel like I have to double cleanse.
colleen rothschild radiant cleansing balm

Sheer Renewal Cream:

After cleansing, I've been using the Sheer Renewal Cream on top of my other face serums. This is the perfect daytime moisturizer! It hydrates my dry skin, yet it sinks in immediately and has a matte, powder-dry finish that any skin type (especially those of you who are oily) will appreciate. It's perfect for wearing under makeup and keeps my skin from feeling greasy even in warm, sticky weather. It's oil free and provides continuous all day hydration...my skin never feels tight or dry despite this being so lightweight and breathable. It also contains multiple fruit acids, as well as lactic acid to pack a serious exfoliating punch, brightening up dull skin and softening fine lines. I noticed brighter skin the very first time I used it and it just keeps getting better. The scent is a soothing blend of lavender and sandalwood...again very spa-like and inviting.
colleen rothschild sheer renewal cream

Last month, I posted a no-makeup selfie on Instagram and I got a lot of comments and questions about my skin and the products that I use. I had been using these two Colleen Rothschild products for about a week at this point and when I looked in the mirror that day, I realized that my skin looked so good, it was the first time I felt confident enough to post a picture with no makeup. It's not perfect, obviously but it looks better now at 38 years old than it did when I was 30 (I never really took good care of it when I was younger).
Before working these two products into my routine, I felt that my skin looked pretty good, but using these made it even better!
no makeup selfie

Overall, I am loving everything about Colleen Rothschild skincare...from the luxurious packaging and ingredients to the awesome results I've been getting, I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to try more!

If you'd like to try Colleen Rothschild, you can use my code BBBLOG to get 20% off starting today through next Friday 6/10/16.
This code is good on everything, even sale items (there's a lip balm and dual enzyme polish that's calling my name)! There's a great Discovery Collection that contains 6 items (including the two I reviewed today) for $95 that drops to $76 using my code.

NEW BH Cosmetics Wild & Alluring Palette + Swatches

The BH Cosmetics Wild & Alluring Palette ($12) has landed and it is gorgeous! It's one of the prettiest palettes I've seen in a long time with 9 marbleized baked eyeshadows, a golden coral blush and bronze highlighter.

This palette comes in a slim cardboard case with a mirror and beautiful ocean blue color theme.
BH Cosmetics posted swatches on Instagram tonight on three different skin tones and I was so excited to see what the marbleized shades look like, since it's hard to tell in the pan. I own a few of the palettes in BH Cosmetics' Wild series and the baked formula is always nicely pigmented, smooth, and super blendable.

For $12 I think I need this in my life! Visit BHcosmetics.com to grab yours!

Lorac Pro Palette 3 Review & Swatches

$

TheLorac PRO 3 Eyeshadow Palette ($44) is brand new for Summer 2016 and will be available online at Ulta.com on June 12th and Ulta stores on June 26th (I got mine over Memorial Day weekend when they offered it to Platinum Members early). Other stores (Kohls, Nordstrom, etc. will be getting it sometime in July). If you're a fan of Lorac's eyeshadows like I am, then keep reading for my review...I'll also compare this to a few other Lorac palettes I have later on in the post.

Packaging:

Like the other Lorac PRO Palettes, PRO 3 comes in a box with a mini tube Behind the Scenes eyeshadow primer. The palette itself is identical to PRO 1 & 2 except for its color which is a beautiful creamy shade. Like the others, it's very lightweight and travel-friendly with a magnetic closure. The soft, rubbery outside is a fingerprint magnet but this one doesn't seem to show them as badly as the darker-colored previous versions.

Formula:

The formula is gorgeous, as always...smooth, buttery and highly pigmented. These shadows blend like a dream and go on vibrantly, even without primer. The only shade I had a little trouble with in terms of patchiness was Truffle, which is a deep gray shimmer. The lighter matte shades like Blanc and Canvas didn't show up well on my skin, but I'm not sure if it's because they're more sheer, or because they're so close to my own skin color that there's no contrast.
Also, they do kick up quite a bit of fallout, as Lorac's super soft formula tends to do, but it doesn't mean that they feel dry or chalky...quite the opposite! They actually go on very silky, just make sure you tap your brush well before applying to prevent them from falling down onto your cheeks.

Regardless, if you're familiar with and like Lorac's formula you definitely won't be disappointed in this one.
Color Selection:

This is very much a Nude palette, and is a gorgeous option for those of you who prefer an "everyday" look over bolder shades. I know that Nude palettes have already had their moment, but I'm still glad that Lorac finally made a PRO version because these are my favorite eyeshadows to work with and this palette is full of shades I will wear every day. There isn't one in this entire palette that I won't use and I'm rarely able to say that.
Like the other PRO palettes, this one has 8 matte and 8 shimmer shades in both cool and warm tones so you have a lot of versatility here!

Cons:

There's only one con with this palette, and it goes for all of the PRO palettes, not just this one. The pans are on the smaller side and the formula does kick up a bit when you dip your brush in, resulting in a very messy-looking interior.
In the photo below, I only swatched the top row and you can see how the color smears all around each pan. I'll be honest, it's a pain in the neck to keep clean, especially since it's such a light color. So if that's your pet peeve, I just wanted to warn you ahead of time!

Swatches:

You can really see how pigmented this palette is here, especially since I didn't use any primer!
Top Row- Mattes

Bottom Row: Shimmer

PRO 3 vs. Unzipped Gold:

The overall shade range in the PRO 3 reminded me a bit of Unzipped Gold, so I wanted to photograph them side-by-side and swatch them to see if there were any dupes. I swatched the shades I thought looked very close in the pan but as you'll see below in the swatches, there are no 100% dupes here.

Unzipped Gold Comparison

PRO 3 vs. PRO 2 & PRO Matte:

I didn't find any similar shades in the PRO Matte palette, but there were a few in the PRO 2 palette that looked like they were close. Once again, no true dupes!
PRO Matte Palette, PRO 2 Palette, PRO 3 Palette

Overall, whether you're a LORAC fan or a fan of everyday nude eyeshadows, I think you'll love the PRO 3 palette! I'm a fan of both and I know I'll use this palette all the time.

Maybelline Master Strobing Stick | Review & Swatches

maybelline master strobing stick
Maybelline Master Strobing Stick ($7.94 at Walmart) is brand new for Summer 2016 and I spotted these at Walmart last week. As far as I know, they haven't shown up at any drugstores or even at Bed, Bath & Beyond yet (which is weird because they usually get things first). If you can't find them in stores, they are available on Amazon.com here.

Packaging:

The Master Strobing Sticks come in a chubby, twist-up stick like the Master Glaze Blush Sticks. The label has a pretty ombre effect that looks shiny and luminous like a highlighter, making it easy to tell these apart from the blushes, which had brightly colored labels that matched the shade inside.

There are two shades available, 100 Light Iridescent (a soft, pearlescent pink) and 200 Medium Nude Glow (a warm golden champagne).

One thing I want to mention is that you don't get a lot of product with these. The amount that I have them twisted up in this photos is as high as they go, so the packaging is deceptive as far as making it look like you get a lot of product. Still, these are so pigmented, you only need a little bit, which makes me feel like they'll last quite a while.
maybelline master strobing stick review
Formula:

The formula is gorgeous...very creamy and highly pigmented in one swipe. They remind me a lot of Benefit's Watts Up! highlighter in the sense that they don't need a lot of build-up to get great color payoff and impact.  They don't feel greasy and the shimmer is very finely milled giving more of a pearly sheen rather than obvious glitter.
They go on so smoothly with very little effort...you only have to touch them to your skin lightly to get great color payoff and they blend so beautifully and set with a powdery finish.

Shades/Swatches:

The colors are beautiful as well!  Light Iridescent is the perfect pinky champagne shade for my fair skin, while Medium Nude Glow is equally as beautiful (if not a little bit dark for me personally). You can see in the swatches how well they catch the light and yet you can't see any obvious glitter (or stray glitter particles anywhere).

These swatches are one swipe of the stick, so the pigmentation is fantastic. Also, they blend really easily so you can customize how intense you want them to be. You can swipe them on and just pat them lightly to keep them looking more intense, or feather them in with your finger or a brush to sheer them out. Either way, they look gorgeous on the skin.
Comparison Swatches:

I wanted to swatch these next to some of my other cream highlighters so if you own any of these you can see how the Maybelline Master Strobing shades compare.

First, I swatched the Maybelline Pink Iridescent next to some of my pink-toned highlighters...if you like any of the other shades, I'll link them underneath the photo.
Maybelline Pink Iridescent ($7.99), Colourpop Teasecake($8), Wet n Wild Marigold Round (Ltd edition, not available online), Sonia Kashuk Persian Sunset ($10.99), Revlon Pink Light (new-not online yet, but in drugstores), L.A. Girl Luminous
Here's Medium Nude Glow next to some of my golden/bronze highlighters:
Maybelline Medium Nude Glow ($7.99). Benefit Watts Up! ($30), Flower Beauty Honey Bronze & Gold Coaster ($9.98), Sonia Kashuk Sparkling Sands ($10.99), Colourpop Wisp ($8), Colourpop Highly Waisted ($8).
Final Verdict:

I absolutely love the new Maybelline Master Strobing Sticks and will say these are definitely my new favorite drugstore highlighters! I've been waiting for a Watts Up! type of formula at a more affordable price and I finally feel like we have one.

Have you tried the new Maybelline Master Strobing sticks? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

You can find them at Walmart stores or at Amazon.com

L'oreal Summer 2016 Now at Ulta | BOGO 50%

Four new L'oreal Summer 2016 products have arrived at Ulta, including the wildly popular Pro-Glow Foundation that's already sold out at Walmart.com and Amazon.com. I was hoping to see the new Sexy Balms they've been posting sneak peeks of on social media...or maybe those cushion blushes that launched in Asia a while back. But I guess there's still time for more new stuff to arrive!

Also, L'oreal is currently BOGO 50%
Let's take a look...

Loreal Pro-Glow Foundation ($12.99)-It's $2 more than it costs at Walmart and for some reason there are only five shades, vs the eleven that both Walmart and Amazon had. Strange! Still, I hope you can get your hands on one (in your shade) before they sell out...again.

Colour Riche La Palette Lip Pinkand La Palette Lip Plum ($16.99)- When L'oreal launched a lip palette over the winter, it got so many rave reviews, so now there are two more to choose from! They each contain 8 shades with cream, matte, and highlighter finishes. The price is kinda steep, but at least they're BOGO 50% right now!

Voluminous Lash Primer ($8.99)- Finally L'oreal launches a standalone lash primer! They've had a few double-ended mascara-primer combos but it's interesting to see one that's part of their cult classic Voluminous line! It claims to both condition and build tons of volume in a lightweight formula.

Also...if you spend $40 at Ulta today (until 4pm Central time) you'll get this 4-piece NYX gift worth $32!

Revlon Insta-Fix Highlighters Now at Ulta

The Revlon Insta-Fix Highlighters ($13.99) have arrived at Ulta and they're not part of a contouring kit that we've been seeing in drugstores! So if you've been wanting to get your hands on these, now's your chance.

I'm actually a bit shocked at the price since I paid $16.99 for both the highlighting stick and foundation stick together in a set at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I know they're usually a little cheaper than the drugstores, but this is a pretty big difference! I expected them to be like $9.99 or something like that.
Also, the new Maybelline Master Strobing sticks are a lot more reasonable at just under $8 and I like their cream-to-powder formula a bit better.

Still, if you're interested in trying these out, you can find them now at Ulta.com...and they're currently BOGO 50%!

Rimmel Good To Glow Highlighter | Review & Swatches

Rimmel Good To Glow Highlighter ($4.07 at Walmart) is a liquid illuminator that can be used to add radiance and glow to your skin. I picked these up back in the fall when I spotted them at Walmart and I haven't seen them in any other drugstores so far so I'm thinking they might be a Walmart exclusive...just don't quote me on that!

Packaging:
Good to Glow comes in .84 fl oz. squeeze tubes that are shiny and gold with a screw-on cap. You actually get quite a good amount of product for the price, especially since the L'oreal True Match Lumi Liquid Glow highlighters are $12.99 at drugstores for only .67 fl oz.

Shade Selection:

Good to Glow Comes in three shades...

Notting Hill Glow- a shimmering pearl shade.
Piccadilly Glow- a warm peachy shade
Soho Glow- a cooler bronze shade

Formula:

These highlighters are a lightweight liquid that feels slightly hydrating but won't add significant moisture to your skin. They don't have that silicone-like feel that primers have...they sink in quickly with no greasy residue (think Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquids) They have a warm scent that reminds me of an oriental-type perfume...I want to say maybe Dior's Hypnotic Poison? The scent was strongest when I first smelled it in the tube but once I started blending it into my skin I didn't smell it at all.

These highlighters are meant to be worn three different ways...under foundation to give your skin a luminous glow, mixed in with foundation, or dabbed on top of foundation on the high points of your face as a highlighter.

Here's what they look like when you apply them straight from the tube:
Left to Right: Soho Glow, Piccadilly Glow, Notting Hill Glow
They all contain visible glitter, which will translate to sparkles on your skin, especially if you're using these on top of foundation. The shimmer is toned down a lot if you use them under, or mixed in with, your foundation.

The white shade Notting Hill Glow is the frostiest of the three and has the most glitter, followed by Piccadilly Glow, and then Soho Glow.

Soho Glow is the most subtle shade and is my favorite to use all over my face under foundation...even though it's a tiny bit deeper than my natural skintone, it blends in beautifully and adds a little bit of color and glow to my pale complexion. I like that it's cool-toned since that's the way my skin leans and I never have to worry about looking orange.

Piccadilly Glow is great to mix in with foundation to add a peachy glow that wakes me up a little bit when my skin is looking dull and lackluster.

Notting Hill Glow is the one I feel is most challenging to use. I find it to be too frosty and in-your-face to use all over, and it has too much sparkle for me to use as a highlighter...especially everyday. I also find liquids a bit of a challenge to use on small areas of my face...I much prefer creams and powders for that purpose.

Left to Right: Soho Glow, Piccadilly Glow, Notting Hill Glow

Left to Right: Soho Glow, Piccadilly Glow, Notting Hill Glow

When you mix these in with foundation, I discovered that they not only add glow to any formula, but they actually change the shade quite a bit!

I took my Circa Beauty BB Cream (which has medium coverage) in Light/Medium and added a drop of the Good To Glow highlighters...

The top swatch is what the foundation looks like alone. When you add the white Notting Hill Glow to it, you can see that it significantly lightens the shade and adds a visible glow to the formula. Adding the peach Piccadilly Glow warms up the shade and adds a subtle amount of glow. Adding the cool brown Soho Glow actually cools the shade down a bit and adds just the slightest amount of sheen.
Overall, these are an interesting little drugstore find. I haven't tried the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector liquids, so I can't really say if these are a dupe or not, but they're a similar concept. Now that highlighting and strobing are a huge thing, these are a great way to add that coveted glow to your skin on a budget, as long as you don't mind a little glitter!

NEW Josie Maran Whipped Mud Mask at QVC

Josie Maran just launched her line of Whipped Mud Masks ($43.63) on QVC this week and they're already so popular, four out of the six scents have sold out (Unscented and Vanilla Apricot are still available at the time of this post).

These look really interesting because they're both hydrating (with argan oil) and detoxifying (with Rhassoul clay from Morocco). I like to use a clay mask every so often to suck all of the gunk out of my pores, but most make my skin feel really dry and tight afterwards (especially since I have dry skin to begin with). These sound like the best of both worlds!
The Whipped Mud Mask is meant to be applied to damp, cleansed skin and left on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off. Here's the ingredient list for the Unscented version but the scented ones are slightly different (you can see them on the QVC website here).

Aqua (Water),
Propanediol, Moroccan Lava Clay, Maris Aqua (Sea Water), Glycerin, Bentonite, Glyceryl Stearate, Bis-
Stearyl Dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, Dimethyl Sulfone, Jojoba Esters, Butylene Glycol, Acacia
Decurrens Flower Wax, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Argan Oil
Isostearyl Esters, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Pentylene Glycol, Linoleic Acid, Olive Oil Decyl Esters,
Phenoxyethanol, Phytic Acid, 4-T-Butylcyclohexanol, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, Caprylyl Glycol, Linolenic
Acid, Maris Sal (Sea Salt), Magnesium Aluminum Sylicate, Sodium Hydroxide, Squalene, Polyglycerin-3,
Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Wax, Rosa Multiflora Fruit Extract, Tocopherol, Zingiber Officinale
(Ginger) Root, Sanguisorba Officinalis Root Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract. ORGANIC
NATURAL

These are a little pricey but I'm putting them on my wishlist anyway, since the idea of a hydrating mud mask sounds really appealing! There's a great 10 min video presentation of these on QVC.com and you can really see what the texture looks like up close.
