I was expecting to get a few products to try, but was super excited to get the whole line! (You can get everything you see here too-read on!)
First, a little about the line... all Taya products are formulated free of sulfates, parabens, animal products, and animal testing.
All the ingredients are sourced through environmentally sustainable programs and the local communities directly benefit from their harvests and conservation efforts.
Here's what the Taya website says about the Amazon White Clay Collection and how it works to thicken hair:
Amazon White Clay is a natural clay rich in iron, potassium, calcium, and sulfur. The clay absorbs organic materials along the banks of the Amazon River creating a super-nourishing clay that adds greater body, richness and thickness to the hair shaft.
Croton Lechleri Resin, derived from the Croton Lechleri Tree provides density, thickness and nourishment, reducing hair thinning, expanding the hair cuticle, and making hair feel richer and thicker.
Extracts of Raw Avocado Oil penetrate into the hair follicle providing conditioning, nourishment and shine while reducing hair thinning and breakage.
Here are my thoughts on the products:
Since the shampoo $20 is sulfate free, it doesn't lather easily, but it's very thick and moisturizing so it cleanses without stripping the hair- perfect for those with damage or if you're worried about breakage. The conditioner $22 is rich and creamy and made my hair feel silky when rinsing it out.
The Thickening Leave-In Mist $22 (left) was one of my favorite products in the line. I sprayed it on damp hair after showering and after blow drying, my hair looked much more full and shiny.
The Thickening Styling Creme $22(middle) is a little more moisturizing and heavier than the Leave-In Mist. I tried them both together the first time and it was too much for my hair and it was a little weighed down. So depending on your hair type, you could use one or the other. If your hair is very thin or not dry/damaged, you might want to use the Leave-In spray, and if you have a bit more thickness or if your hair is dry and needs moisture, the styling creme will add more body while taming frizzies.
The Thickening Hair Spray $24 (right) is a medium hold finishing spray. I'm personally not a huge fan of non-aerosol hairsprays with a pump because I tend to put too much in my hair, so I prefer the Aerosol version below.
The Thickening Hairspray $24(left) is another favorite of mine. I like to flip my head upside down after drying my hair and spray this in circles a few times. It gives such great body and hold! I also spray a little on my fingers and tame the frizzies at my hairline.
The Thickening Whipped Clay $24(middle) is similar to mousse. I found that it gave my hair a lot of texture which isn't something I want if I'm going for a smooth sleek look, but it added the texture and hold I needed to create waves with a curling iron.
The Hair Plumper $24(right) is a hybrid Mousse/Hairspray and is a really unique product. This was also one of my favorites, as I would spray it into my roots before blow drying and got tons of volume without weight or the stickiness that many root lifting sprays give you.
Overall, Taya's Amazon White Clay Line is great for plumping up fine, limp hair and the formulas are gentle and free of harsh ingredients. Visit TayaBeauty for more information or to purchase.
