Wet n Wild Contouring and Highlighting Products Coming Soon

Wet n Wild posted a sneak peek on Instagram last night of their new highlighting and contouring products arriving in stores in January! It looks like there's a highlight/contour palette on the left, and in the center of the photo is the Illumi-Naughty Highlighting and Concealing Pen. On the right is the Megaglow Dual-ended Contour Stick, with a highlighter on one side and contour on the other. It looks really similar to the NYX version I reviewed back in May.
Wet n Wild has a lot of new products (and redesigned packaging) coming for the new year so it's really exciting (you can see their new setting spray here in case you missed that post). I'll keep you guys updated as soon as these start hitting the drugtsores!

and the flavors are Mint and Sweet Cherry.

This is great news for those of you who didn't like the original flavor! I'm a huge fan of the original formula and can't wait to try these new flavors.

The new Lip Exfoliators are available now on the Elf Website.

Emjoi Micro-Nail Buff & Shine Manicure Kit Review

$

I'm an at-home manicure kind of girl. I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I've actually gone to a nail salon and gotten a mani/pedi...once was before my wedding, once was before my brother's wedding, and I'm sure there were a few more times when I went with girlfriends or my sisters, but that's about it. Growing up there just wasn't money for that sort of thing and as I got older I guess I just figured, "why pay someone else to do what I can do myself?". I'm probably not the typical girl, at least around here in the 'burbs of NYC, because most people I know go to the nail salon weekly. And I'll admit, their nails always look a lot better than mine, but there's something relaxing about coming downstairs after putting the baby to bed with a bottle of nail polish, remover and emery boards and painting my nails while I watch TV. It's a ritual I've been doing since I was a teenager and the best part is, I can change my nail color as often as I want (and usually it's a few times a week).
But the one thing I've always hated doing is buffing my nails, using that little cube with all it's different sides...it just takes forever to get my nails looking shiny and ridge-free. But as I get older (I'll be 38 next week, yikes!) my nails are developing these vertical ridges and my polish isn't going on as smoothly as it used to, so buffing is becoming sort of a necessity for me. That's where the Emjoi Micro-Nail comes in. You guys know I love my Emjoi electronic foot files, so it was only natural that I'd want to try their new electronic nail buffer. I saw it on QVC a while back and was planning to order it but it kept selling out. Then Emjoi recently asked if they could send me one to try and I was super excited.

This little hand-held device fits easily in a drawer when not in use and has a cap on it, making it perfect for your travel bag. It takes two AA batteries and turns on easily with the flick of a button.

It comes with two different types of rollers...a gray micro-smooth roller that smooths the surface of the nail and gets rid of bumps and ridges, and a white micro-shine roller that adds a mirror-like shine to your nails that looks like you're wearing clear nail polish. The rollers pop right onto the triangular-shaped head and switch out easily.

In about two minutes, I can take my nails from being dull and full of ridges to smooth and shiny without having to go over each nail with all the sides of a buffing cube (which used to take me 10-15 minutes). The Emjoi Micro-Nail rollers spin 360 degrees at 30 timesper second so it only takes touching the rollers to each nail for a second or two to get amazing results. I used the gray roller first and removed all of my nail ridges in about 30 seconds to a minute. Then I switched to the white roller and in another 30 seconds to a minute my nails looked like they had a coat of clear nail polish on them.
Before (left) and after using the Emjoi Micro-Nail (right)
Since using the Emjoi Micro-Nail, my nails (and toenails) are ridge-free and nail polish goes on so much more smoothly. It even seems to last longer without chipping because it has such a smooth surface to adhere to. Even on those rare occasions when I give my nails a break and go without polish, it's nice to be able to give my nails a beautiful shine. Even my husband tried using this and he's a total manly man who would never even think about getting a manicure. He saw it on the counter and tried it on one nail and thought it was so cool, he kept going (he's a sucker for any type of gadget, haha).
I plan on getting a few of these and giving them as Christmas gifts this year. It's the perfect idea for the women (or men) in your life!
Currently, the Emjoi Micro-Nail is sold exclusively at QVC, and the kit that I have that comes with four rollers is sold out, but there is another kit that has 8 rollers for a few dollars more, and you can find that atQVC.com here for $49.95.

**Disclosure- I received this product for review from a brand or PR Agency but all opinions are my own. I was not paid to write this review (this is not a sponsored post).**

Sephora Ombre Obsession Face Palette Review & Swatches

Looking for something to buy during the Sephora VIB event? How about the stunning Sephora Ombre Obsession Face Palette ($34)? I went into my local store a few days ago with my Rouge 20% off coupon and ended up totally caving on this palette when I saw it in person. It's huge! Like, literally the size of a dessert plate, I kid you not. Remember when I posted about this palette a while ago? I was picturing this to be about the size of a CD, but yeah...nope! When I saw it in the store, it suddenly seemed to be worth the $34 price tag. Also, Sephora Collection can sometimes be hit or miss for me (although lately I've been loving everything from them) but this is definitely a hit.
Let's take a closer look!
Sephora Ombre Obsession Face Palette

This palette contains 8 powder blush shades with one universally flattering powder highlighter in the center. Four of the blushes are ombre while the other four are solid shades.
Sephora Ombre Obsession Face Palette

It's really hard to show the size of this palette in photos, but trust me...you'll be pretty shocked when you see it. I don't think I have any palettes that are this big. Thankfully, it's pretty thin so I feel like you could still travel with this because it's not bulky. It could probably slip into the pocket of a travel bag.
Sephora Ombre Obsession Face Palette

Inside there's a mirror and even though it's not the size of the entire lid, it's still large enough to see your face. The shades are so beautiful...there's a great range of shades in here from cool to warm. They included subtle pinks and peaches to brights and darks and even a few bronze shades. Three of the shades are matte (#'s 2, 4 and 8 if you look at the chart on the back of the box above) and the rest are shimmer. Numbers 1, 3, 5 & 7 are ombre shades that go from light to dark in the same pan.
Sephora Ombre Obsession Face Palette

Each pan is a generous size for getting a blush brush into, which is great because I was picturing them to be small back when I thought that this palette was CD-sized. Here you can see how my e.l.f. blush brush looks next to the actual palette.

Sephora Ombre Obsession Face Palette

Sephora Ombre Obsession Face Palette

I was really impressed with how these swatched! They're soft, buttery and feel very high-end. These are swatched over bare skin, no primer (and they're not blended)...I wanted to give you an idea of just how pigmented these are. I haven't tried any Sephora Collection blushes in a long time, so I didn't know what to expect, but these are just amazing! They pick up on my brush so easily and blend effortlessly on the skin. They're also really long-lasting...I get all-day wear out of these even on my dry skin.

These swatches start with the beautiful highlighter in the center and then I started with shade #1 and went clockwise.

Here's a closer look at the swatches...this first photo is the highlighter and shades 1-3.

I have to say...I love the Tarte Bling It On blush palette that I reviewed back in September and I thought that was going to be my favorite blush palette this year. But it's got some major competition with this one! If you're looking for Holiday gifts for the girls in your life (or just for yourself, haha) the Sephora Ombre Obsession Face Palette would make any makeup lover happy. It's got shades to suit any skintone and it's just amazing quality for $34, not to mention the size is insane!
Grab this one while you still can at Sephora.com because once the reviews start coming out on this one, I have a feeling it'll go quick.
If you're Rouge, you still have tonight to use your code (Rouge20) and if you're VIB, you can use your code (VIB20) between November 13th and 16th. The 20% off will bring the price of this palette down to $27.20.

IT Cosmetics Friends & Family Starts Today + My Favorite Picks

The IT Cosmetics Friends and Family 25% off sale starts today and ends Saturday, November 14th. You'll get 25% off any $30 order and also free shipping with code ITGIRLFF25! Read on to see what I'll be stocking up on during the sale...

I usually replenish my face products in the Fall and then again in the Spring for two reasons...one is that my skin color changes a bit (paler in the Winter and a shade or so darker in the Summer) and also my skin type changes (drier in Winter, normal in the Summer). So I usually need to switch up foundations, concealers, powders and lip products....luckily IT Cosmetics has some of the best so I usually wait for this sale before I stock up.

Here's what I can't live without from IT:

Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50 ($38 / $28.50 with the 25% off)- The CC+ Cream is probably my favorite foundation of all time...it's got all the benefits and creamy texture of a CC Cream but has full coverage like a foundation. It's not heavy and unlike thicker, full coverage foundations, it doesn't sink into fine lines or cling to dry patches. It's a holy grail for me all year round and in the Winter, I like to use the Illumination version to give my dull dry skin a bit of a lit-from-within subtle glow. (See my review of the Illumination version here)

Celebration Foundation $35 ($35/ $26.25 with the 25% off)- I have tried many powder foundations over the years wishing that I would find one that doesn't make my dry skin look worse, and I finally found it! Celebration Foundation feels so creamy and hydrating on the skin and gives close to full coverage on it's own! I love using it on days when I'm not putting on a full face of makeup or if I'm in a hurry because it's so quick and easy to use- 30 seconds and I'm flawless. I plan to pick up the Illumination version this time since we're heading into Winter. I haven't tried it yet but have always wanted to since I love the original version so much! (See mini review here)

Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer ($24/ $18 with the 25% off)- Best. Concealer. Ever. This miracle formula covers absolutely everything but somehow manages not to crease, cake, or sink into the fine lines under my eyes. It's my holy grail and I never want to be without it. (See mini review here)

No. 50 Serum Anti-Aging Collagen Veil Primer ($48/ $36 with the 25% off)- This isn't just a primer...it has so many amazing skincare ingredients inside and it adds hydration to your skin rather than feeling like it just sits on top. See my review here.

Vitality Lip Flush 4-in-1 Reviver Lipstick Stain ($20/ $15 with the 25% off)- I tried this lipstick for the first time over the summer in the shade Je Ne Sais Quoi and I couldn't get over how hydrating it felt...I thought I was wearing a lip balm all day. I can't wait to try more shades! (See my review here)

What will you be getting during the IT Cosmetics Friends and Family event? I'd love to hear about your favorite IT products!

I know I've been posting about the new Tarte Tartelette in Bloom palette the past few days, but I just wanted to do a quick post hereto show you guys these swatches!
Tarte posted them on Snapchat today and they're so beautiful! Don't they look ridiculously pigmented?!
It'll be available for purchase at Ulta.com on November 15th and I think these swatches just sealed the deal for me...what about you?

Grab Those Splurge Items Today on QVC

Today in honor of Singles Day, QVC is offering 6 Easy Pays on a whole bunch of their luxury items. I almost never see 6 easy pays...usually it's three, sometimes four. But Easy Pay makes it much easier to afford big-ticket items without having to pay for them all at once.
You don't need a QVC card or anything like that...any credit card will work. You purchase the item online through QVC.com and then every month, they'll bill your credit card in installments! So it's like putting it on layaway except you get the item right away instead of having to wait. There's no other fees involved either, they just take the price of the item (plus tax and shipping) and divide it by 6! I bought my Clarisonic Smart Profile this way last year and it was great because I didn't have to spend the $269 up front (by the way, it's available again this year!).

So here are some of the amazing products that are available for 6 Easy Pays (and all of them can be returned up until January 31st 2016- even after using them, so you are trying these with no risk)...

Clarisonic Smart Profile Sonic Cleansing System ($269- or $44.83 on 6 Easy Pays)- I took advantage of this last year and upgraded my Clarisonic Mia. The Smart Profile is amazing...it has a facial brush, body brush, and foot smoothing disc that you can switch out. The body brush was worth it for me...I cleanse my body with it instead of using a shower pouf and it exfoliates so well (and gets rid of those little bumps on the back of your arms and on your legs). If you don't like it, you have until January 31, 2016 to return it (even if you've already used it).

The Tria Age-Defying Laser ($495 or $82.50 on 6 Easy Pays) and the Tria 4X Laser Hair Removal for Face & Body ($449 or $74.83 on 6 Easy Pays) are two products I've been dying to try! Imagine getting dermatologist laser treatments to erase wrinkles or get rid of unwanted hair permanently right at home...it sounds amazing, but I don't have almost $500 lying around to purchase these. The monthly payments make owning one way more affordable and being able to return it until January 31, 2016 if you don't see results is unbelievable!
The GHD Eclipse Professional 1" Styling Iron ($245/ $40.83 on 6 Easy Pays) and the CHI Air Vibe Ceramic Touchscreen Hair Dryer($200/ $33.33 on 6 Easy Pays) are two high-end hair styling tools that are a bit easier to buy thanks to Easy Pay, whether it's an investment for yourself or a Holiday gift.

Even though it's not beauty-related, you can even get the Apple Watch ($529.98/ $88.33 on 6 Easy Pays). I just wanted to throw that in there because it's probably on a lot of gift lists this year!

To see all of the Singles Day deals at QVC including more beauty items, like Philosophy and Perricone sets, head on over to QVC.com.

Soap & Glory Cosmetics Out March 2016!

Thanks to beautylogicblog on Snapchat, I have some sneak peeks of the Soap & Glory Cosmetics line, which already exists in the UK that will be launching here in the US in March, 2016! I'm sorry that these photos are so blurry, but the camera was panning back and forth so my screenshots aren't the best. I can still make out the product names, so I can confirm that at least these products will be included in the US launch. Lets take a look!

*Note...all of the product links go to the UK website so you can see what these look like and the product descriptions.*
In the first photo, I see some Sexy Mother Pucker lip products as well as a double-ended brow and highlighter crayon called Arch de Triumph. Also, there's Hocus Focus Instant Visual Flaw-Softening Illuminator, which is a liquid illuminator that can be used under foundation or mixed with it for an allover glow.
I also spot the Thick and Fast Mascara which has false lash fillers, shine amplifiers, and claims not to flake or clump.

Photos from www.soapandglory.com
In the next photo, we see the limited-edition Perfect 10 Eyeshadow palette, which is going to be $20 (this is the only product I have US pricing for so far). Also in the background, I noticed the One Heck of a Blot foundation which claims to be the best foundation for oily skin and is a liquid to powder formula that conceals pores, fine lines and redness and lasts up to 12 hours.

Photo from www.soapandglory.com

Finally, we have a few more face products, including One Heck of a Blot Translucent Mattifying Powder, Glow all Out Luminizing Powder, Love at First Blush Multi-Shade Blushing Powder, Peach Party Multi-Colored Blush, and Kick Ass Instant Retouch Pressed Powder.
Photos: www.soapandglory.com
As I said above, I don't think that this is all we're getting...we may be getting the whole line but these are just the products I saw in beautylogicblog's Snapchat, so they're the only ones I know about for sure. I'll keep you guys updated when I know any more about this!
How excited are you?? I can't wait!

Profusion 6 Color Eyeshadow Palettes First Impression & Swatches

I was at Walgreens the other night and spotted these cute little Profusion Cosmetics palettes in the holiday section for only $3 each! I've had great luck with Profusion lately so I figured what the heck, why not just get all three to try? Interestingly, the shades inside look pretty much exactly like the Runway Glamour Eyeshadow Palettes on the Profusion website so I'm not sure if this is older packaging or what the story is there.  I also only saw these three options at Walgreens but there may be one more since there are four Runway Glamour Palettes on the Profusion website.

Also, there are a ton of awesome gift sets and hidden gems at Walgreens right now, so if you want to see more, check out my girl G's post over at Nouveau Cheap today...she has tons of photos, swatches plus tips on finding the new launches and holiday sets.
Let's take a closer look!

These cute little travel-friendly palettes come in cardboard packaging with a circular magnetic flap that keeps them closed. Inside, each palette contains 6 shades and a small sponge-tipped applicator. There's also an application guide inside the top lid of the palette.

The Nude palette has shades like champagne, bronze, brown and taupe and they're all shimmery finishes.

The Blush Palette has rosy toned pinks and browns (think Naked 3) and all of them have a shimmery finish.

The Neon Palette isn't really neon at all...I'd probably call this one Brights instead. Each shade in this palette is very different from the others and they're fun, bright colors. The only shade that isn't a bright is a silvery gray.

After playing with these a little bit, I have to say, I'm pretty impressed that these are only $3. They have excellent pigmentation and the formula feels soft and buttery. I swatched them over primer and they came out beautiful and vibrant. Without primer, they pigmentation was good, but not quite as nice. I also really love the shades in all of the palettes, they're so pretty!
On the downside though, these have some fallout due to the fact that they contain a lot of shimmer. When I use my finger to swatch them, I get little chunks and flakes that come up. Also, I wouldn't recommend using your finger on these at all because the oils from my skin ended up creating those hard surfaces in the middle of the shadows that don't allow the product to be picked up easily. But when I used my brush around the edges (where my finger didn't touch), it picked up the product nicely and it applied beautifully to my eyes. So I would recommend just using a clean brush on these, rather than your fingers.
Other than those few issues, these are nice little palettes for $3! Have you spotted these in your local Walgreens yet?

City Color Mosaic Blush Review & Swatches

I'm back with another blush review, this time it's City Color's Mosaic Blushes ($4.99 plus 10% off with my code BudgetBeautyBlog). I don't know why I keep buying blushes lately...I think I might have a bit of a problem. Still, I couldn't resist these when I saw them at Five Below a few weeks ago because as you probably know by now, I'm obsessed with City Color's Be Matte Blushes- they're amazing. So how do these compare? Read on to find out...

Each Mosaic Blush has three shades that are swirled together to create the perfect flush. They come in three different colors that are super pigmented and actually come out on the darker side...these aren't sheer light colors. So these will show up beautifully on darker skin tones and if you're on the lighter side like I am, you can just sheer them out. You can also customize the shade a bit depending on where you put your brush. In the swatches below, I swirled the brush through all three shades but the darkest area of the blush is in the middle, so you can put the brush along the outside of the compact and use just the two lightest shades.

The first shade, Pink Glow has shades of pale pink, mauve, and a darker cool-toned pink in the center.  When all three are swirled together, they create a beautiful raspberry shade that's perfect for fall.
City Color Mosaic Blush Pink Glow

Coral Glow contains gold, peach and red-orange and when you swirl them all together, you get a beautiful coral shade.
City Color Mosaic Blush Coral Glow

City Color Mosaic Blush Coral Glow

Bronze Glow contains varying shades of bronze (no surprise there) but the thing I love about it is that it's not the least bit orange...it's a true bronze.
City Color Mosaic Blush Bronze Glow

City Color Mosaic Blush Bronze Glow
Here are the swatches of all three shades...as you can see they're super pigmented and have just a hint of shimmer. They're soft and easy to pick up with a brush...a little goes a looong way, you don't need much. Wear time is also above average for a powder blush.

Overall, I'm really impressed with these, but I'm definitely not surprised. City Color consistently creates high-quality products at super-affordable prices. If you're looking for a gorgeous pop of color for your cheeks that's under $5, these are a fabulous pick! The darker colors are especially great for this time of year, too.

You can find these at your local Five Below store or at CityColorCosmetics.com. Use my coupon code BudgetBeautyBlog for an additional 10% off!

Beauty Junkees Kabuki Brush Set Review

$

I was recently contacted by a company that was new to me called Beauty Junkees and they asked if I wanted to try some of their brushes. I've tried a lot of makeup brushes over the years and I'm very picky about the quality, so a lot of the time I'm not all that impressed. But when I saw all of the glowing reviews on the Beauty Junkees line and direct comparisons to Sigma brushes, saying that these are even better I knew I had to try them! Julie, the owner of Beauty Junkees sent me two different sets to try...one is a kabuki set for the face which I'll be reviewing today, and the other is an eye brush set that I'll be reviewing in a separate post. She also sent me some coupon codes to share with you guys so I'll be posting those down below.
Let's take a closer look!

The5 Piece Kabuki Brush Set ($32.97) comes with every brush you'll ever need for your face. What struck me first was the quality of these brushes...I wasn't expecting a set this inexpensive to be so phenomenal! This set comes in a black case that's sturdy and feels very high-end- this is not a flimsy, cheap feeling product at all. It serves as a brush holder with two separate cups to organize all of your brushes. I've been using one side to store my kabuki set in and the other to store my eye brushes in. It's also a fantastic travel case and snaps shut on both sides to keep your brushes safe and secure.
ĵ
The brushes themselves are heavenly. They're fully synthetic and vegan-friendly, yet they feel amazingly soft, velvety and plush...not the slightest bit scratchy. They are very dense, so they don't pick up excess product (limiting waste of product), and are also very easy to clean. They have solid wood handles that feel very nicely weighted in your hand and they have a certain heft to them that just feels luxurious. They also have a double crimped copper ferrule and will not shed...I've been using these for about a month and I haven't found one hair out of place on these brushes.
I've seen a bunch of reviews from other bloggers and YouTubers that compare this set to the Sigma Sigmax Kabuki Brush Set (which is $90) and every single review said that the Beauty Junkees set was as good or better than the Sigma set! I personally haven't tried Sigma's brushes, and actually if I'm being honest, I use mostly e.l.f. and Real Techniques but I do have a few from Dior, Tarte, & IT Cosmetics and these are just as good...actually, better because the prices are ridiculously low for the quality you're getting. So I have no doubt that they also rival Sigma's brushes.

There are five brushes in this set and I should also mention that you can buy these individually on the Beauty Junkees website or on Amazon.com (where they're a little cheaper and also where you can use my coupon codes). I'll link to the individual brushes below when I talk about each one. I love how each brush has it's name right on the handle for easy identification.

The Tapered Kabuki Brush ($11.97) has a tapered tip that's perfect for applying concealer around the eye area, nose and mouth for even streak-free coverage.

The Angled Kabuki Brush ($11.97) is perfect for applying blush or for contouring. The soft angle deposits just the right amount of pigment.

The Flat Angled Kabuki ($11.97) combines the blending application of a flat-top brush with the contouring application of an angled brush and is perfect for carving out cheekbones and applying bronzer to the cheeks, hairline and jawline.

The Round Kabuki Brush ($11.97) is ideal for applying mineral makeup to the skin. It grabs just the right amount of product without making a mess and buffs and blends like a dream.

Last but definitely not least, is my favorite...the Flat Kabuki Brush ($11.97). If you're using a flat foundation brush (one of those ones that looks like a paintbrush), try this instead and I guarantee you'll never use another foundation brush again. This one leaves absolutely no streaks and it buffs foundation seamlessly into the skin, giving a beautiful airbrushed, perfectly blended finish. I've seen this compared to the famous Sigma F80 which is $24, so this is an amazing deal!

Overall, I have to  say that these are the best brushes I've ever used and they're super affordable! The Kabuki Set ($32.97) works out to be only $6.59 per brush, which is crazy...I can't even stress enough how high-quality these brushes are! But the best part is, I have a coupon code that will get you $10 off the set, bringing it down to only $22.97 ($4.59 per brush). This only works on Amazon and not the Beauty Junkees website. The code is: BUDGET10

Or, if you're interested in individual brushes, I have a coupon for 25% off one single brush. The code is: BUDGET25 . This brings them down from $11.97 each to $8.98!

These would make a perfect holiday gift for the makeup lover in your life, or if you want to invest in some high-quality brushes without breaking the bank, I highly recommend checking these out. Beauty Junkees also offers a 100% money back guarantee on their brushes, so there's nothing to lose.
I'd love to hear from you if you've tried Beauty Junkees brushes! Let me know what you think!

Tons of Indie Beauty Finds at Burlington Coat Factory Today

I haven't done a Burlington Coat Factory haul in a while...I think the last time I was there was back in the Spring! But I've been thinking about going and all last week things kept coming up and I wasn't able to get there. So I finally made it there today and oh my gosh there were so many palettes and sets to choose from! In today's post, I just wanted to post some photos to give you a small sampling of what's there, but there was no way I could capture it all. The best part is that most of it is smaller makeup brands that are harder to find like Profusion, City Color, L.A. Girl and Beauty Treats. I ended up getting a few Beauty Treats palettes that were absolutely adorable and I'm excited because I've never tried this brand before.
Let's take a look...

The first palette that caught my eye was this Beauty Treats Heart Love Blush Palette ($4.99)...how cute is this??? I need to review and swatch it ASAP. If your local Burlington doesn't have it you can purchase it here for $6.99

They also had this Heart Love Correction Palette for $4.99, which contains 10 cream concealers (you can buy it here for $5.99)

There were also two different Matte Eyeshadow palettes from Beauty Treats that were $4.99 each.

This Face Contour Palette from Beauty Treats was only $4.99 and contains highlighters, blushes and bronzers.

The Beauty Treats Professional Face Palettes were $9.99 and they're huuge. The pans are each as large as a full-sized blush/bronzer/highlighter so this is a really good deal if the quality is good!

This one has 12 shades of face powders ranging from light to dark and is perfect for highlighting and contouring all skin tones. (You can purchase it here for $15.99)
The other Professional Face Palette that was there has 20 shades and includes brushes, highlighters and contour shades. (You can purchase it here for $15.99).

Next, I was so happy to find this Profusion Trendsetter Blush & Bronzer palette because it's been sold out on their website for a while. It's actually back in stock now and has been redesigned for 2016 so I'm guessing that's why this is at Burlington. Still, the shades look the same. (You can buy the new version here).

It contains really pretty highlighters, bronzers and blushes, and also includes three brushes.

I also spotted the L.A. Girl Beauty Brick palettes, both the eyeshadow and blush versions! I reviewed these a while ago and they're fantastic!

I also spotted these Argan Oil Lip & Cheek sticks by Jasmine La Belle cosmetics. They reminded me of the Josie Maran Argan Color Sticks but these were under $10 for the set.

Finally, I found a few nail polish sets from Ciate London. This one was $12.99 and contains 7 of their Mini Paint Pots and a large canvas makeup bag.

These Ciate kits are $6.99 each and contain one large Paint Pot polish and one topcoat that's made with real crushed seashells.

So if you're in the mood for some great indie brand makeup finds, run don't walk, to your local Burlington Coat Factory! They had many many more products than what I've shown here.
I purchased a few of the items I featured here so I'll be posting reviews soon. :)

John Frieda announced this week that they have launched a presale of brand new 2016 products at Target.com. This launch includes brand new offerings as well as reinvented versions of popular products in the Brilliant Brunette and Go Blonder lines. Let's take a look!

First up is a brand new product called Root Blur ($18.99) that covers greys and blends dark roots with a single stroke. It comes in four different shades and there are two shades within each palette that allow you to customize your color.
Next up are two different versions of the Brilliant Brunette line, Visibly Brighter and Visibly Deeper.

Visibly Brighter Shampoo and Conditioner ($8.99) and Visibly Brighter In-Shower Lightening Treatment ($8.99) can take your dark hair up to one shade lighter without turning orange or brassy.

The Visibly Deeper Shampoo, Conditioner & In-Shower Treatment ($8.99 each) claim to deepen your color up to 1 shade for a darker, more lustrous color.

Finally, the existing Go Blonder line gets a new addition with the In-Shower Lightening Treatment ($8.99), which instantly softens dark roots and and brightens blonde tones in one wash.

I'm all for extending the time between coloring my hair, so I'm really excited that there will be more options in the drugstores! What do you think of the new John Frieda 2016 line?

I don't think I've ever been this excited about a QVC Today's Special and I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to try it ahead of time, thanks to IT Cosmetics! The It's Your Top 5 Superstars & More Collection ($59.94) landed on my doorstep early last week and it was full of my own personal favorites from IT Cosmetics along with one or two products I hadn't tried yet (but have since become favorites). It contains 5 of their top selling products, plus a Heavenly Luxe brush for $59.94 (starting Nov. 20 at 12am EST until 11:59pm on Nov. 20th). This kit is a $185 value...just the brush is $58! If you've always wanted to try IT Cosmetics, this is the kit to buy because these are the best of the best and are only $9.99 each with this set. Let's take a closer look...

The It's Your Top 5 Superstars & More Collection comes in a beautiful box ready to be gift-wrapped and inside, each item is in it's own box as well. They also included two samples...one of their No. 50 Primer, and one of their CC+ Cream (which is definitely at the top of my list when I think of IT Cosmetics).

Everything that comes in this set is full sized and there's a great cross-section of products here! This kit has enough products to almost complete your entire face (I added cream eyeshadow & eyeliner to my face below).

Here's what's included:

  • 0.28-fl oz Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Anti-Aging Concealer
  • 0.30-oz Celebration Foundation Illumination
  • 0.33-fl oz Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Volumizing Mascara
  • 0.0056-oz Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil
  • 0.11-oz Vitality Lip Flush Anti-Aging Lipstick Stain in Je Ne Sais Quoi
  • Heavenly Luxe Master Brush
Today, I wanted to post a no-makeup selfie as a before shot so that you could see the difference these products make, particularly the foundation and concealer. I have quite a bit of discoloration and brown spots from sun damage and most medium-coverage foundations don't cover it completely. Here's how I completed this look step-by-step using this kit:

Step 1. I squeezed out a tiny dab of Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer in the shade Neutral Medium (which actually works better for me than the Light shade which is more yellow, go figure!). I put it on the back of my hand to warm it up a bit and dab my finger into it several times to thin it out a little bit. Then I applied it underneath my eyes and also on my eyelids up to my brow bone and into the inner and outer corners. I also applied it to the top of my nose, which tends to get red and the sides of my nose. Then, I just spot-treated any of the more prominent brown spots on my face.

Step 2. Using the Heavenly Luxe Master Brush (which is so incredibly soft and plush by the way) and swirled it around in the Celebration Illumination Compact (shade Light). I buffed the creamy powder into my skin and it gave me a medium coverage the first time around. The best part about Celebration foundation is that you can go back in and add another layer without being afraid that it'll look cakey (even on drier skin types like mine!). I also go in with my finger and dab a little powder on any spots that the brush didn't cover and it gives amazing coverage this way.
After a couple of minutes, it just melts in and becomes one with your skin, so don't worry if it looks a little powdery at first. I love this version even more than the original because it gives my dry skin life! I didn't notice any shimmer, even when I went outside...it just gives your skin a very subtle, lit-from-within glow. It's magical!

Step 3: I filled in my brows with the Brow Power Universal Eyebrow Pencil, using short strokes to mimic the look of hair. Then I used the spoolie brush on the other end to brush them up into place and soften the pencil marks.

Step 4: I lined my eyes with a black pencil and used a quick layer of cream eyeshadow stick in a taupe brown shade (from Mally Beauty).

Step 5: I used three coats of Hello Lashes Mascara, which is new to me, but I'm already in love. The brush is made from those plastic bristles that are great at combing through your lashes to avoid clumps and it has a ball shaped tip that you can use to really grab your inner and outer lashes as well as the bottom ones.

Step 6: I swiped on the super soft and hydrating Vitality Lip Flush in Je Ne Sais Quoi (see my full review from back in the summertime here). This goes on clear and develops into the softest flush of rosy pink and makes my lips feel so hydrated and soft.

Here are some more pictures from other angles (it stopped raining long enough that I could take some pictures out of the car) so you can see how flawless they can make you look...even outside in natural light! I just turned 38 on Monday and IT Cosmetics helps me to get back the skin I had in my 20's (well, other than some fine lines of course, lol).

Head on over to QVC.com to snag your IT Cosmetics It's Your Top 5 Superstars & More Collection, but don't wait...tomorrow night at midnight, it goes back up in price!

Beauty Treats Heart Love Blush Palette Review & Swatches

I am always on the hunt for new affordable beauty brands to try because, I don't know about you guys, but lately I've been kind of bored and unimpressed with most drugstore makeup. Discovering brands like City Color, Profusion and Colourpop (to name a few) have made me wonder...why can't the drugstore brands keep up? Somehow these smaller brands manage to offer adorable packaging, innovative formulas, and amazing quality while still keeping the prices down (often even lower than brands like Maybelline, CoverGirl and Revlon).
I've seen the brand Beauty Treats around in places like Five Below but I hadn't tried anything from them before. Then I saw this Heart Love Blush Palette in Burlington Coat Factory earlier this week and it was $4.99. And it's blush. In heart shapes. So yes, I put it in my cart in about half a second and crossed my fingers that it's actually as good as it looks.

Looking at the back of the box, I was happy to see that Beauty Treats, which is based in Los Angeles, is a Cruelty Free brand...again these smaller companies are almost always cruelty free while some of the big drugstore brands aren't!

The palette itself is made of plastic that seems a bit on the flimsy side (like if I pressed down on top of the lid it would just crack. But for $4.99 I'm not complaining. There's no mirror or brushes included, but I never use brushes that come inside palettes anyway so I don't mind that part at all.
Beauty Treats Heart Love Blush Palette

Inside are ten matte shades of blush, ranging from light peach and pink all the way up to darker red-pinks, corals and fuchsia. There's a great mix of warm and cool toned shades in here as well, so I really love that about it.

But the main thing I was dying to find out about this palette was how pigmented these shades were, and oh man...are they ever! I found myself saying things like, "holy crap" and "whoa" over and over again as I swatched these. I never expected them to be like this, but they're like pure pigment! And they stain, so we're talking all day wear here. I had to cleanse my arm with oil three times to get these swatches off!
I'm so impressed because usually matte shades are notoriously dry, patchy and streaky but these pick up so easily on a brush with almost no fallout whatsoever. A lot of these shades are very dark so I have to be careful not to venture into clown cheek territory since I have really light skin.

I tried one of the dark fuchsias to see if it would be wearable on me and just touching my brush to the pan picked up way more than I needed. So I tapped my brush a few times and was able to use that little bit of blush to do both of my cheeks. Then I blended like crazy. You have to be quick with these because since they're almost pure pigment, they do stain.

They also last all day long. My cheeks looked the same at 11pm when I was going to bed as they did around 11am when I first applied it.

Here's what all the shades look like unblended...how crazy is this pigmentation?!
Beauty Treats Heart Love Blush Palette swatches

Overall, my first Beauty Treats purchase totally exceeded my expectations of what I thought a $4.99 palette would be. I just want to caution those with fair to light skin like me...it's extremely easy to go overboard with these shades. You only need the tiniest bit on your brush and you have to blend quickly. But the payoff is a powder blush that literally lasts all day. If you live near a Burlington Coat Factory, I highly recommend heading over there to see if these are available in your area. I was also able to find it online at Blue Scandal for $5.99

Final Summary:

Pros: Inexpensive, highly pigmented, little to no fallout, great range of shades
Cons: Somewhat flimsy packaging, very bold colors for fair and light skintones...use a very light hand.
