Sneak Peek INSIDE the Becca Afterglow Palette

$

Yesterday I brought you a sneak peek of the Becca Afterglow Palette that's coming to Ulta on September 27th ($39.50) and I've been searching for inside photos to show you guys. I finally found some on Instagram courtesy of one of my favorite accounts to follow, @trendmood1. Here they are, and it's beautiful!  It does look pretty small, especially next to the props in the photo below, but at least there seems to be more room around the pans vs. the Hourglass Ambient Edit palette, plus this is half the price!

I think this makes up my mind, I will definitely be returning the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit and getting this one. It's half the price and so beautiful!!

What do you think? Will you be getting this when it comes out?

The Becca Afterglow Palette is Now Available on Ulta.com

The Becca Afterglow palette is now online at Ulta.com! My sources were saying it was launching Sept 27th but it showed up early this morning.

It's $39.50 and contains 3 luminizers and 2 blushes:

Shimmering Skin Perfectors in Moonstone, Rose Gold, and Topaz, and Mineral Blushes in Wild Honey and Flowerchild.

I was all ready to order this but now I'm not sure because I was looking at the photos and all of a sudden it hit me...the luminizers look very similar to The Balm Manizer Sisters palette ($28) I just got a few weeks ago at Kohls. Here they are next to each other...The Manizer Sisters on top and the Afterglow palette on the bottom.

As beautiful as the Afterglow palette is, I feel like it might be repetitive to get it, since I have The Manizer Sisters AND I just ordered the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush set so I really don't need any more blushes right now.

What do you guys think? Will you be buying the Afterglow palette, or passing on it?

The Tarte Holiday 2015 Collection has landed at Ulta and there are some products that are different than the ones at Sephora, so I thought I'd share and also recap what's at Sephora so you can decide which products are best for you.

Here's a recap of the Sephora Holiday 2015 Tarte Collection:
Bling It On Amazonian Clay Blush Palette ($44)- This one is $9 more than the Ulta blush set, but it includes 5 blushes instead of 4 and they're all in one palette, rather than in separate compacts. A $110 value (Ulta's blush set has a $60 value and costs $35)

Deluxe Amazonian Butter Lip Set ($21)- This is the same exact set that Ulta has and they're the same price.

Light Of The Party Collectors Makeup Case ($59)- This set costs $10 more than Ulta's set and contains 30 eyeshadows (vs. 24) , and a bronzer, blush and highlighter (while the Ulta set has 3 blushes). Both sets contain a deluxe size Lights Camera Lashes mascara. This set also has a double-ended eyeshadow brush, while Ulta's set has a Lip Creme. A $394 value (Ulta's set costs $49 and has a $322 value).

Lips for Daze Lipsurgence Set ($34)- This set contains 5 Lipsurgence lip tints in both matte and satin finishes. Ulta's set is also $34 and contains 9 lip cremes that are individually packaged in sets of 3 to give away as gifts.  The Sephora set has a $120 value while the Ulta set has a $126 value.

Shine Bright Statement Lash Essentials ($20)- features a limited edition eyelash curler with sequined handles and a deluxe sized version of Lights, Camera, Flashes mascara. Not currently sold at Ulta.

Stroke of Midnight Brush Set ($44)- a sequined brush box featuring five, full-sized limited edition brushes. A $156 value. Not currently sold at Ulta.

Also, exclusive to Tartecosmetics.com (and shortly at Macys), is a third portable palette called Home for the Holidaze ($49), which contains four limited edition eye and cheek palettes with 16 eyeshadows and 4 blushes plus a full size Lipsurgence Lip Creme in ravishing and a deluxe Lights Camera Lashes mascara. It also contains a separate empty palette that you can pop any one of the four palettes in to take with you on the go.

So there you have it! I hope this comparison was helpful...I think I'm liking the Sephora blush palette better than the blush set at Ulta, but I'm torn between the 3 large palettes. Ugh, decisions, decisions!

What will you be getting from these collections...anything?

Sneak Peek of NYX Fall & Holiday Collection

NYX Cosmetics has a bunch of new products coming out this fall and early next year and I was able to get a sneak peek thanks to Milly Almodovar Thompson, Senior Beauty Editor at Cosmo for Latinas. Her Instagram (@beautylogicblog) and Snapchat (beautylogicblog) accounts are always featuring the newest products to come across her desk, so if you love sneak peeks, her accounts are definitely the ones to follow!

The first sneak peek I saw was on Instagram and it's an Ombre Blush collection that's coming out in February, 2016. She said that they have "two silky colors blended into one perfectly coordinated shade" and that the "pigment is CRAZY!" They're going to be $10 each.

Next, I headed over to Snapchat where she previewed items from the Fall 2015 and Holiday 2015 collection.
I took some screenshots and tried to get as many products as I could. First up are the Rocker Chic palettes which will be out in October.

I can see three different shades in these photos...

and the outside of the packaging is studded, hence the Rocker Chic vibe!

Next are the Beauty School Drop Out palettes. The one at the top of the photo looks like it has 80 eyeshadows (I count 8 across and 10 down) and blushes and lipsticks on the other side. The second palette in the middle of the photo has 35 eyeshadows and it looks like blushes, highlighters and bronzers.
At the bottom of the photo, it looks like a possible blush/contour palette.
I'm guessing these will be out for Holiday, but I'm not 100% positive.
beautylogicblog on Snapchat

The last sneak peek she shared are these Sculpt and Highlights out in January. It's hard to tell what type of applicator these will have but it looks like they're double-ended and that they might possibly be a liquid formula with a lip gloss style applicator.  I recently reviewed the NYX Wonder Stick which is a similar concept...double ended highlight and contour, but those are in a solid cream formula.

What do you think of the new NYX sneak peeks? Does anything excite you or are you not impressed?

Hard Candy Fierce Effects Lipstick Swatches & First Impression

$

Last week, I discovered a bunch of new Fall 2015 Hard Candy products at my local Walmart (check out my post here in case you missed it) and there were a lot of new lip products to choose from. The Fierce Effects Lipsticks caught my eye due to the rhinestone studded packaging, and of course, the $5 price point. There are 9 shades total, most of which were bold shades that I probably wouldn't wear so I grabbed the two most tame-looking shades, Glisten to Me and Galactica. Let's take a look...

The first thing I noticed after I stopped gawking at the packaging was that Hard Candy put safety seals on these...finally! I'm so tired of going into Walmart and finding out that all of the lipsticks have been swatched already. This type of seal, which is just a label going across the opening, isn't the most difficult type to open, so people will still break into them. But at least you can easily tell if someone has opened it, which is  a step in the right direction.

When I opened the tubes, I could tell right away that these had a sort of metallic, frosty type of finish. They're not sparkly or shimmery...they're shiny without being glossy.

Glisten to Me is a coppery nude shade, while Galactica is a plummy mauve. The formula contains Argan Oil, so they're supposed to be really moisturizing, but I didn't find them to be overly hydrating on my lips. They go on super pigmented...laying down full coverage in one swipe. They feel really lightweight and grip your lips without feeling slick or greasy so they have good staying power- I'd say 4-5 hours on me through eating and drinking.
Several hours after application, my lips started to feel a little dry, like I needed some lip balm, but I have extremely dry lips, so if you don't you may not have the same experience.

Overall, if you like metallic finish or frosty lipsticks, you'll really enjoy these for only $5! The pigmentation is fabulous and they feel weightless on your lips. If you tend to have drier lips, keep some lip balm handy (but you probably won't need it right away).
You can find the Hard Candy Fierce Effects Lipsticks at Walmart stores and Walmart.com

Tarte Bling It On Holiday 2015 Amazonian Clay Blush Palette Swatches

I just got the Tarte Bling It On Amazonian Clay Blush palette in the mail today and I couldn't wait to open it up and swatch it! This palette is $44, a Sephora exclusive and is part of the Tarte Holidaze collection. I have never owned any of the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes, even though I've been hearing amazing things about them. Every time I go to Sephora I can't decide because there are so many beautiful shades...and since I can't afford to buy all the ones I like, I was never able to settle on just one shade. With this palette, I didn't have to...finally, I can try five shades at once! Let's take a look:
tarte bling it on blush palette swatches

The Bling It On palette comes packaged in a beautiful box and the palette itself looks like a sparkling black clutch...very chic and beautiful!
tarte bling it on blush palette review

I was really impressed with how large this palette is...since I've never owned one, I didn't know what to expect, and after being disappointed by the size of the Hourglass Ambient Edit palette, I was expecting this to be small as well with sample-sized blushes in it. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's almost as big as my Naked Palette and the pans inside are a great size for using a brush to pick up the color. In my mind, it's totally worth the price because I think these pans will last a really long time...you barely need to use any product to add a nicely pigmented flush to your cheeks. They also last all.day.long.

tarte bling it on blush palette

I've swatched these individually in store before, so I knew that they were packed with pigment, but I was still oohing and aahing over the shades. I think I'll use every single shade in this palette...they're all so beautiful and universal.
tarte bling it on blush palette photos

Here they are swatched on my arm...they appear to be all mattes with the exception of Beaming, which has just a little bit of shimmer in it.

Overall, I'm super impressed with the Tarte Bling It On palette and if you're going to splurge on one item this year, make it this one. You won't be disappointed!

Tons of Sephora Coupon Codes!

I have a bunch of Sephora coupon codes I wanted to share with you guys! Most of these require a minimum $25 purchase (but that's easy to do at Sephora, right?) except where noted. I got these from various sources, emails from readers, Sephora emails and from Ebates, which always has a bunch at any given time. A couple of them, such as the Bare Minerals Trio and Bobbi Brown Serum concealer have different shade options, some of which are sold out already.

These next two give you a choice of Acne samples or Oil samples for skin and hair:

Finally, if you're VIB or VIB Rouge, you can get these Buxom sets with any $35 Sephora purchase.

For this set, use code VIBTOKENS:

For this set, use code BUXOMROUGE:

That's all I have for now. I hope you find something you like here that you can add on to your next order! Please be aware that these could sell out at any time, so if a coupon doesn't work, that's why. I tested each one at the time of this post and they were all working, but that could change.

Sneak Peek- Too Faced Love Flush Blush Palette

Just when I thought, "Ok, I have my Tarte holiday blush palette, I'm all set", Too Faced goes and does this:

Yup, a Love Flush blush palette is coming out soon, although I don't know when or how much it will be just yet. As much as I'm loving my Tarte Bling It On blush palette, I find myself wanting this one too.

Photo from @makeupbyvirizun on Instagram
It looks like it's a really long palette...I wonder why they didn't do 3 on top and 3 on the bottom instead of 6 across. It looks cool like this but depending on how big it is, it might be hard to store. It makes me wonder if these pans are like, super small.
What do you guys think? Yay or nay?

Bliss Makeup Debuts at Kohls

I was so surprised when I walked into Kohls yesterday and saw that Bliss now has makeup...and it's not just a couple of things, it's an entire line with everything you could ever want when you're looking for makeup. The price points are kind of on the higher side...everything is between $20 and $36...but you can use Kohls cash and Yes2You Rewards on these, so that definitely helps! I have a ton of pictures to share with you so let's get started!
bliss makeup line

The Bliss makeup line has a lot of complexion products, starting with their Mad About Smooth Mineral Primer ($32) and 'Tint'stant Tinted Skin Perfector($36). The primer reminded me a little of the Hourglass mineral primer at first swatch...it's white with a little bit of a glow in it and feels really lightweight. The Tintstant skin perfector reminds me a lot of the Perfekt Skin Perfection Gel- it's like a tinted primer. I'm hoping that this one has more coverage, like Tarte's BB Primer. It was hard to tell just by swatching it on my hand.
bliss at first base

Next is their Under Cover Secret Full Coverage Concealer ($25) which comes in 6 shades. It's in a tube and has a sponge-tipped applicator.

I had to laugh at the display here where it says, "we love you long time" for their Stay'cation Long Wear Liquid Foundation ($36). It claims to be a lightweight formula that goes on like a second skin. It comes in 12 shades.

There's also a powder foundation called em'powder'me($34) which also claims to go on like a second skin with buildable coverage.

Just a Little Tint ($34) is a tinted moisturizer that claims to be the "ultimate fusion of skincare and makeup" to enhance the complexion with buildable coverage. It comes in 8 shades.

There are three different concealers in the line...first was the full coverage one mentioned above. Second, the Mend It, Blend It anti-blemish concealer ($22) is supposed to conceal redness, visibly reduce pore size and oil without looking cakey.

One of the products that really jumped out at me is the Un-buffing Believable Smoothing Finishing Balm ($35). It reminds me a lot of Mally's Poreless Perfection Face Defender, but the packaging on this is too cute. It looks like a silver inkwell and the top contains a little kabuki brush for applying the balm. I'm not sure how well that works over makeup, but I really want to try it! I swatched a little balm on my hand and it made my skin look so smooth...pores and wrinkles seemed to vanish.

The third concealer in the line is the Feeling Bright Illuminating Under Eye Concealer ($23) which is supposed to give you a well-rested appearance. Next to it on the shelf is also the Correct Yourself Redness Corrector Stick ($20) which claims to instantly neutralize redness.

The Accent Lighting Highlighting Sticks ($20) come in three shades and make it easy to highlight any part of your face, whether it's under your brows, cupids bow, or the tops of your cheekbones.

Go For The Bronze Powder Bronzer ($28) comes in two shades and does contain some shimmer.

Miss Sculpt-a-Lot Contour Palette ($32) claims to be universally flattering on everyone. As someone with fair skin that has a hard time finding a contour palette that isn't too warm or too dark, I can agree that this one would probably work for me...at least the first two shades, and possibly even the darker one if used sparingly.

Light The Glow Illuminating Gradient Powder Blush($26) comes in three shades and they're so pretty!

I actually had to swatch these and show you the shades. They're super pigmented and soft and I really want one!
Also for cheeks, there's a cream option called Got a Blush On You ($24). These are in stick form and come in three shades. I swatched one of them on my arm and it was really, really pigmented.

The Well Lit and In a Blush serum fluids ($28) are liquid illuminators and blushes that are supposed to give a lit from within glow. I squeezed one of the illuminators onto my hand and it was a bit separated...I'm not sure if it was due to sitting there under hot lights all day or the tube standing strsight up, but a little bit of serum came out first, followed by some pigment. When I mixed them together though...oh man it left the most beautiful highlight!

For eyes, there are a couple of palette options but no single shadows. The Hey Four Eyes Palettes($24) come in four shade combos and felt really soft and velvety.

TheSweet In'ten'tions Palettes($36) feature 10 shades in both mattes and pearls...don't these kind of remind you of Tarte's shadows with the logo imprinted on them?

The Where There's Smoke Long Wear Eye Liners ($22) come in 8 shades and are silky smooth and easy to blend.

Also for eyes, there's the Holy Brow Tinted Brow Gel ($24) featuring a mousse-like formula that mimics the look of real brow hair without drying out. It also appears to have a brow brush inside the cap. There are also three mascaras in the collection...one defining, one thickening and one waterproof ($22 each).

The Bang! Pow! Balm! tinted lip balms ($20) give a sheer pop of color and come in cute little chubby tubes. They're actually really wide so it seems like they might be difficult to apply to your lips without getting it outside the lines.

TheLong Glossed Love Serum Infused Stain ($24) comes in five shades and claims to be a "genius all-in-one formula" that fuses a gloss and a stain together.

The Lock & Key Long Wear Lipstick ($22) comes in 12 shades and claims to saturate lips with pure color that lasts all day while nourishing and softening your lips.

The Bold Over Liquified Lipstick ($21) gives intensely saturated color with a lightweight feel.

Whew! I may have missed some products in the line but there were so many to take photos of...I didn't want to look like a total weirdo to the Kohls employees so I was trying to hurry. That's why some of these photos aren't the best quality and I'm sorry for that! I know I missed some brushes and a setting spray, at least.

Are you planning to try anything from the line? You can view all of the products at Kohls.com.

Sephora Collection has just released two brand new Ombre palettes for Holiday 2015 and I am drooling over how beautiful they are! There's an eyeshadow palette and a face palette with blushes and a highlighter (my fave!). Let's take a look...

sephora ombre obsession eyeshadow palette

The Ombre Obsession Eyeshadow Palette $34, contains 8 eyeshadows (4 ombre and 4 solid). The ombre shades are much larger than the solid shades and go from dark to light (or vice versa).

The Ombre Obsession Face Palette $34, contains 8 blushes (4 ombre and 4 solid) in both matte and shimmer finishes, plus a universally flattering luminizer in the center. Sephora is claiming a $175 value on this one, so I'm guessing it has to be pretty large.

What do you think of these new palettes? Are you a sucker for ombre like I am?

Both palettes are available now on Sephora.com

New Tarte BB Full Coverage Concealer Now Available on QVC

Last night, QVC debuted a brand new concealer fromTarte called BB Full Coverage Concealer($29 includes a bamboo brush).  I'm a huge fan of their BB Tinted Primer...it has amazing coverage that looks so natural and doesn't sink into fine lines, so I think I absolutely need this one in my life! Let's take a look...

tarte bb full coverage concealer

Here's the description from the QVC website

This multitasking BB concealer offers full, buildable coverage to address the appearance of imperfections. The custom delivery system dispenses the ideal amount of velvety concealer that can be applied directly to problem areas on the face, such as under the eyes or areas in need of spot treatment for targeted coverage. The included brush helps to expertly blend the creamy concealer for a flawless finish.

While I was watching the presentation, they mentioned that this concealer has a unique pump that actually cools the product as it's coming out of the tube (maybe like how compressed air is cold?). This is a really cool (pardon the pun) idea because putting anything cold under your eye area helps to reduce puffiness.

If you're thinking about ordering, I highly recommend watching the presentation on QVC here, because they swatch the shades for you and also apply the product on models so you can see how it works!

You can grab this now at QVC.com!

BH Cosmetics just released a brand new palette filled with 12 rose-toned neutrals called the Nude Rose palette ($20). It's currently on sale for $12 so if you're interested, don't wait as it's part of their Fall sale and will be going back up to full price soon.

Let's take a closer look...

The Nude Rose Palette comes in a beautiful metal tin that reminds me of the Naked 3 palette. It contains 12 rosy nudes from champagne to deep brown in three finishes: Satin, Velvet Matte, and Shimmer. It also comes with a full-sized professional-quality dual-sided smudge and shadow brush. It's not often that you get a full-sized brush included in a palette, so it's awesome that they included that, especially at this price!

The Body Shop Oils of Life Review

Last month, I posted about a brand new skincare range that was launching at The Body Shop called Oils of Life. There are four products in the collection and I ended up going to my local store and getting two of them to try, figuring that if I liked them, I'd go back and get more.
I ended up getting the two products that really caught my attention...an essence lotion and a facial oil. There are also two moisturizers in the line, a lighter gel-creme formulation and a regular creme. Let's take a look!
the body shop oils of life review

First of all, the packaging! The Body Shop has really knocked it out of the park with this one- these bottles are just beautiful and really high-end looking. They have definitely dressed up my sink the last month or so.
The Essence Lotion is in a plastic bottle but the Facial Oil is in a glass dropper bottle so you have to be really careful with that one...I can't imagine how many pieces it would be in if it hit my tile floor, yikes!
the body shop oils of life review

So before I get into the individual products, what are Oils of Life? Inside each product are three precious seed oils that have unique skin benefits and when you combine them together, you get a powerhouse formula that feed your skin, resulting in a radiant complexion. Seeds have the ability to create and grow into life so they contain a multitude of antioxidants and vitamins. Plus, oils are the perfect texture to penetrate the skin deeply to get those amazing ingredients deep down where you need them.

These three oils are:

So now let's talk about the products themselves!
the body shop oils of life review

The Essence Lotion ($22) is something that is common in Korean and Japanese skincare but has only recently made it's way over here to the US. Usually it's a watery, toner-like fluid but this one is a little bit different in that it has oil molecules suspended in the water, kind of like a Micellar water. So because it's a dual-phase formula, it needs to be shaken well before you apply it. It goes on right after cleansing and you can use a cotton pad or pat it in with your fingers (which is what I do).
the body shop essence lotion review

In additon to water and oils, it also contains humectants to help draw water into the skin, and having the oils in there means that it creates a barrier so the water can't evaporate off of the skin. This first step balances your skin and adds a tiny bit of moisture to prepare your skin to receive your other skincare products. It feels super lightweight and sinks in immediately. My dry skin loves it but I think any skin type would be fine with this because it's not heavy or greasy.
It does have a scent to it, which I would describe as herbal and a little earthy. I can see some people not liking it but the good news is, it disappears very quickly.  I personally like it...it's sort of spa-like!
the body shop essence lotion review

the body shop essence lotion review

The Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil ($39) contains 99% oils of natural origin this is meant to be used after the Essence Lotion where you would normally use a serum. I still use my other serums, one for dark spots and my Prevage serum, but I layer them on first because they're lighter-weight than this is. In fact, I've been using this as my moisturizer because my skin isn't as dry in the summer and this feels so nourishing, that I feel like using another moisturizer on top would be overkill.

the body shop facial oil review

This oil claims to instantly give a smooth appearance to the skin and revive radiance. After 4 weeks, the signs of aging are supposed to appear reduced and wrinkles appear minimized, while your skin feels more elastic and firm. This oil also has that earthy, herbal scent but it quickly dissipates.
the body shop oils of life facial oil review

the body shop facial oil review oils of life

After using these products the past four weeks, I can honestly say that my skin looks much more radiant...to the point where I actually notice it. So many products claim to give your skin "radiance" but it's such a commonly used term and difficult to measure most of the time. Usually I don't even notice a huge difference but this time, I noticed that my skin was glowing after the very first day!

Here's a photo from June and another one from last week...in both photos I'm wearing foundation but in the photo on the right, my skin looks much brighter and more luminous, while my skin on the left looks more flat and dull (the curse of having dry skin).

Normally, when it comes to skincare, I always say "the more high-tech the better". I'm always up for trying the latest and greatest anti-aging ingredients to fight those fine lines that keep creeping in, so I usually don't go for a more simple approach. However, Oils of Life has made me a believer! Plus, I do still work my other skincare products in with these...I use my dark spot serum and prevage in the daytime and my retinol serum at night before applying the oil and it works out great.
In the winter when my skin gets really dry, I'll definitely pick up one of the Oils of Life moisturizers because I'm just so impressed with this line!

Friday Faves- Mascara Edition

$

I'm doing a new series here on the blog called Friday Faves, because I get a lot of requests from you guys asking what my favorites are. I thought it would be fun to talk about my current can't-live-without products at different price points, so I've got you covered no matter what your budget is.

Each Friday, I'll choose one higher-end product and one drugstore product that I've been loving recently and each week will have a different theme, such as blushes, eyeshadows, hand cream, nail polish, etc. This week, I wanted to talk about mascara and the two that I currently reach for every day without fail...Benefit's Roller Lash and Covergirl's The Super Sizer.

Benefit Roller Lash ($24 at Sephora, Ulta and Benefit Cosmetics)- This one blew me away the first time I used it! The brush has tiny hooks that catch, lift and curl your lashes and it gives me long, feathery lashes with loads of curl. Plus, it feels really lightweight on my lashes and keeps them soft so they don't droop halfway through the day. Also, a huge requirement for me in a mascara is that it doesn't smudge under my eyes, and this one doesn't! As much as I love Benefit's They're Real mascara, it gives me terrible racoon eyes which really bums me out.
You can see my full review here, but here's a photo of me wearing Roller Lash- I mean, just look at that curl!

Covergirl The Super Sizer ($5.99 at Target) was one that I really had to get used to. When I first posted my review, I talked about how it gave me a great false lash look, but my one gripe was how clumpy and wet it was...the way the brush is designed, it just deposits a ton of product onto your lashes. But after several uses, it dried out a little bit and then I started to love it. First of all, Covergirl recommends rolling and combing this up through your lashes rather than wiggling back and forth and I got the best results doing it that way. I kept forgetting to do that at first because it's ingrained in me to wiggle the brush!
After it dried out a little bit, I had much less issues with clumping and was able to build up multiple coats with no problems to get a false lash look. This also makes your lashes look super black and bonus...it doesn't give me raccoon eyes (just a couple of flakes here and there at the end of the night).
Here are my results from my full review back in April...

I use one of these every single day. Today I'm wearing Roller Lash, yesterday it was The Super Sizer. I love them both so I just grab whatever one I happen to see first while I'm doing my makeup.

So tell me...what would you like to see next week for Friday Faves? I'll definitely use the suggestions from here as well as the ones I get on social media going forward so drop me a comment! :)

Sneak Peek Inside The New NYX Rocker Chic Palettes

If you're not following nyxcosmetics on Snapchat, I have a sneak preview for you! I saw this on their Snapchat today and took some screenshots to show you inside these palettes I posted about earlier this week.
These have five eyeshadows inside and super cool studded packaging. They'll be selling them before their official release date at their brand new NYX store in Santa Anita grand opening on 10/2, but I'm guessing we'll see these on the NYX website and in Ulta pretty soon after that.

Here's a look inside each palette:

Which one's your favorite? I'm liking Heart of Gold but I'm always all about the neutrals so that's not really a surprise (boring I know!) haha.

New! Fresh Cocoa Body Exfoliant

If you're a chocoholic like me, you'll be super excited to know that Fresh has just released a brand new scrub at Sephora...Fresh Cocoa Body Exfoliant ($45). It's infused with cocoa butter and coconut oil and contains crushed cocoa and coconut shells to buff and polish your skin to perfection.

I have to say, I was obsessed with their Brown Sugar Body Polish for a while, but it was too expensive to keep buying all the time, and I found that the Tree Hut scrubs from the drugstore did a good job for only a few bucks. Still, despite the price tag, this is chocolate and I might need to treat myself to at least one jar of the Fresh Cocoa Body Exfoliant. Also, I think this would make such an amazing gift, because who couldn't use a spa-quality body scrub (especially one that smells heavenly like chocolate)? The women in my life will definitely be getting one of these this holiday season!

My New Tory Burch Boots (and How I Got Them For Almost 50% off)

I've been looking for a pair of rain boots for a while now but haven't been able to decide on a pair...I was back and forth between Hunters or some Michael Kors ones I saw recently. I always loved the Tory Burch styles but at $235+ I couldn't afford them. Then last week, I heard about the Poshmark app...I think I'm a little late to the party, because I always just used Ebay in the past, but Poshmark is like an Ebay for fashion lovers!
Right away, I got sucked in, looking at everyone's "closets" (which is another way of saying their "listings") and saw some really great deals. Then these Tory Burch rain boots caught my eye...they were listed for $125, less than a pair of Hunters! Keep reading to find out more and how to get $5 off your first purchase at Poshmark!

When I saw these boots come on, the girl who was selling them said that she was moving to Arizona and couldn't use them there, plus the best part was, she hadn't even worn these yet! They were brand new and in my size. I didn't even hesitate, just bought them right there on the spot and when they arrived, they were perfect!

So how does Poshmark work? Basically, it's like Ebay but for fashionistas looking to sell their clothing, accessories and even beauty products! There's a social element to it as well, you can "like" items for sale, "share" them and even join themed "parties" where you can share your items for sale with others in real time.
The best part is, unlike Ebay, Poshmark guarantees everything you buy, so if you get an item and it's not how the seller described it or it's a fake you're entitled to a full refund. They do their best to eliminate fake designer items anyway, but just in case, it's nice to have that refund option.

My one piece of advice is to check the app often! I found these boots as soon as they were listed but I'm sure they would have been gone in 2 minutes if I hadn't bought them. There are a few more boots like these that cost more and have some wear on them that have been out there for a while, so the good stuff goes quickly! The other day, I saw a pair of Tory Burch ballet flats that were selling for $50 (instead of $225) and I didn't buy them...sure enough they were gone when I checked a while later. The ones that were left cost more and had more wear on them.

So if you haven't signed up for Poshmark yet, I have a coupon code you can use to get $5 off your first purchase...it's PENVG.
Happy shopping! You'll have to let me know if you get as addicted to Poshmark as I have. :)

L.A. Girl Velvet Contour Sticks Review & Swatches

L.A. Girl Velvet Contour Sticks ($5 each at Lagirlcosmetics.com) are a brand new product designed to make contouring easy with twist-up stick packaging and a velvety cream formula that comes in highlight, blush and bronzer shades. I've come to expect great things from L.A. Girl so I didn't hesitate to grab 8 out of the 16 shades to try. Funny enough, despite these being called "contour sticks" I didn't pick up any of the bronze shades because I'm not all that into contouring (gasp!). But I did grab all three highlights (because I love me some highlighters) and five shades of blush. So let's take a look!
L.A. Girl Velvet Contour Sticks Review & Swatches

The packaging on these is really cute! They're chubby twist-up sticks and the product itself is dome-shaped...much better for using on the contours of the face rather than a flat stick. They have a see-through cap so you can clearly see the shades, plus the outside of the tube closely matches the actual shade, making it easy to grab the one you want without having to look for the name.

The formula is so velvety and soft with jojoba seed oil, shea butter, cocoa seed butter, and grape seed oil. They're paraben-free and cruelty-free as well!  They glide on like butter with fantastic pigmentation and are such a dream to blend. Unlike other cream blushes I've tried that are a little drier, these won't leave weird streaks or lines...even a beginner can blend these out like a pro due to the creamy formula. They set to a soft, powdery finish that lasts all day on my dry skin. If you're oily, you may want to top these with a powder blush (or translucent powder) to give it extra staying powder. A lot of people I know who have oily skin don't always get along with cream blushes because they slide around too much. I can't say for sure that these will do that, but they're really creamy so it's a good possibility.

There are three highlighters, three bronzers, and ten blushes in the collection. I ended up getting all three highlights and five blushes.

Let's start with the highlighters...

Cashmere is a matte highlighter which is great if you want to brighten areas of your face (especially around the eyes) without shimmer. I also use this as an eyeshadow base and it works wonderfully for that.
Luminous is a warmer golden highlight, while Radiance is a cooler champagne highlight. Both are shimmery, but not sparkly or glittery.

The blushes I got were mostly mattes with one very shimmery shade and one with more subtle shimmer.

Snuggle (pale peachy pink matte) and Dreamy (light pink matte) are so perfect for fair to light skin tones. They're soft, pretty shades with a matte finish.
Glimmer is pink with gold shimmer and leaves your cheeks looking luminous. I skip highlighter completely when I use this shade.
My Bae (pinky coral with a little shimmer) and Plume (cool-toned pink matte) looked dark when I first swatched them, but I realized that they can be easily sheered out to work really well on my light skin.

Overall, I'm really loving the L.A. Girl Velvet Contour Sticks! The color range is impressive and I think everyone will be able to find a shade to suit them. Plus, the stick format and easy blendability makes these a snap to use on the go or when you're pressed for time. At $5 a pop, these are a great budget-friendly find that I would definitely recommend picking up!
