Nuxe Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm Review

Nuxe Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm ($19) recently showed up at my local Target, along with a few of their other items that have a cult following such as the Huile Prodigieuse. I was surprised to see this luxury French line at Target, right next to the Boots No.7, as I've never even seen Nuxe products in person in my small little town. Of course, I've read about it over the years in fashion magazines...and how celebrities like Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston are among their huge fans (as well as countless other celebs).
So even though I was a bit skeptical of dropping $20 on a jar of lip balm, I figured, a.) I have the driest lips in the world and am still looking for that holy grail miracle treatment, and b.) if it's good enough for Gwyneth and Jen, it's good enough for me. Just kidding about that last part...mostly. Let's take a look!
Nuxe Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm Review

Nuxe Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm comes in a .52oz. frosted glass jar with a screw-on cap. I'm not really too fond of lip products in jars, as the germ-a-phobe in me doesn't want to dip my fingers in there unless they've just been washed (which means if I'm out shopping and touching things and I want to use this, I won't). But the texture is too firm for a squeeze tube, yet too soft to be in stick form. So a jar is the only logical packaging I can think of for this, unfortunately.
Nuxe Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm Review
The formula is 79.5% natural and it contains no parabens. It contains Sweet Almond Oil, Shea Butter and honey as well as citrus extracts like grapefruit and lemon, which give it a sweet, soft, mellow spa-like scent. The fragrance reminds me a little of Fresh's Sugar Lip Treatment but with a little bit of honey thrown in.
Nuxe Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm Review

The formula itself is very thick and you only need a little bit. I expected it to be a hard balm when I ran my finger over the top, but I actually picked it up very easily because it melts on contact with the heat from your skin. It feels like a thick, waxy butter and when you first apply it, it can feel the slightest bit gritty...but that goes away completely as soon as you massage it into your lips.

Nuxe Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm Review

I primarily wear this at night before bed, and I have to say, it works even better than my Bite Beauty Agave Lip Treatment! That's a bold statement for me to make because the Agave treatment is one of my favorite lip products of all time. After using this, I wake up with pillowy soft, smooth lips without a greasy feel.
That's the other thing I love about this balm! It has a matte finish so it's the perfect balm for wearing under lip products (just use it more sparingly than you would at night). For the first time, I feel like my perpetually lips are in good enough condition to wear matte lipsticks, especially when I layer this underneath. It almost does double duty as a lip primer, conditioning dry patches and filling in lines.
Nuxe Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm Review

Is it worth the splurge?
I say absolutely! I've had my jar for 2 weeks and use it a few times a day and it looks like I've barely used any of it...so this half ounce jar will probably last 6 months to a year easily. I'm happy to say I've found my new Holy Grail lip product (although I'll always love the Agave mask too...especially the tinted versions!).

You can purchase Nuxe Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm at Target stores and Target.com.

Budget Friendly Alternative:
I'm also loving Pixi Beauty's Shea Butter Lip Balm in Comfort Clear ($8 at Target) for night and daytime time use. The colors are also fabulous, but the clear version also has a non-greasy, matte finish that sinks into lips quickly and is perfect for layering under lip products!

Maybelline ColorBlur Cream Matte Lip Pencil Swatches & First Impression

I recently spotted the new Maybelline Color Blur Matte Lip Pencils at Walmart for $7.73 each. They weren't in any sort of special display where new products are, they were just mixed in with all of the existing Maybelline products. There are 10 shades (my Walmart had 9 of them in stock) so I got them all to share with you. I wanted to get swatches up now because a lot of you have told me you're waiting to see the swatches before you buy.  I can't do a review right now since I haven't thoroughly tested them out, but I will give my first impression...let's take a look!
Maybelline Colorblur swatches

There's a gorgeous range of shades to choose from, but if you like nude or subtle colors, there's really only one...I like to Mauve It. The one shade I'm missing, Pink Insanity may also be a lighter color based on the display at the store, but the rest are all brighter, darker shades.
Maybelline Color Blur Swatches

The formula is so super creamy, it's ridiculous! They glide on like butter and have a velvety powder-like finish with no shine whatsoever. They made my lips feel very soft and smooth and didn't cake or sink into lines. Wear time on I Like To Mauve It (which is the only color I've tried on my lips so far) was pretty good at a few hours, but I'm guessing some of the darker, more pigmented shades will stain (they stained my arm!) and last longer. They have a smudger on one end for creating that gradient lip look that's been popular in Korea for a while now (darker in the center and faded out toward the edges). I haven't tried them that way yet, just all over the lips. Pigmentation on all shades is incredible...these swatches are all one swipe and they don't drag on the skin or lips at all.  They're just a dream to apply and wear. I'm in love so far!

I'll post a full review with lip swatches in the next week or so once I've had the chance to really try these out. Stay tuned!

My Perfect Summer Bikini's!

I rarely do fashion posts, but when I find something I love, I feel like shouting it from the rooftops! I've been looking for a swimsuit for a month or so and wasn't having any luck. After having a baby, my shape has changed a little bit. I'm back to my pre-baby weight, but my hips are wider now, so finding bottoms that give good coverage is such a challenge!
Every bikini I found fit on top but even the size large bottoms were too skimpy...even high end suits that cost a fortune. Finally, I ended up at Aerie and oh my gosh...they have every different kind of swimsuit you can imagine! Whatever your personal body issues are, you're likely to find something that fits there.
For me, I have a totally flat chest and a lot of swimsuit tops make it look even flatter (which makes my top and bottom look even more out of proportion). So I ended up finding the perfect suits for my pear-shaped figure...they have a push-up bra style top and a fuller coverage hipster bottom.  What I love about them is that I don't feel like I'm wearing a frumpy "mom" bathing suit...they're still super cute, trendy bikini's!
Holly Bikini top and Crochet Bottom, and Brooke Bikini Top and Aerie Hipster Bottom
Read on for more details!

When I bought these, Aerie was having a BOGO Free sale, so I was able to get the bottoms for free. I think at the moment, they're running a BOGO for $10 but they're always changing it.

The first suit that caught my eye was the Brooke Bikini Top ($39.95) and the Aerie Hipster Bikini Bottom ($24.95). I love the print and the fact that the bottoms are adjustable and have cute ties on the sides.

Next, I picked up the Holly Bikini Top ($44.95) and the Aerie Crochet Hipster Bikini Bottom ($26.95).  First of all...the color is just beautiful! Second, the fit is perfect on both pieces and I love the crochet detailing. The straps on the top are also removeable so it can be worn as a bandeau-style top. When you're flat chested like I am, strapless tops tend to completely flatten you out, but this has padded, molded cups so that doesn't happen...yay!
Holly Bikini Top and Crochet Hipster Bottom
No matter what your body type, if you're struggling in the search for a bathing suit this summer, try Aerie on for size! It was a lifesaver for me and I finally feel like I can be comfortable and look cute on the beach this summer...and that's priceless!

I know I have a huge skincare giveaway going on right now, but I thought I'd keep the ball rolling and start another one! This one isn't as big, but it features 3 amazing Julep beauty products worth $64. Many people think of nail polish when they think of Julep, but I've been getting their Maven subscription box for over a year now and let me tell you, their beauty products are awesome!
This set includes one of my new favorite brow products that I haven't reviewed yet, but am planning to very shortly.  It also includes a duo eyeshadow and Plush Pout lip crayon.  Let's take a closer look at each item:

Feels Like Velvet Eyeshadow Duo in Coconuts and Cabanas ($20).  These eyeshadows are super soft and pigmented...I have them in a few different colors and they're fantastic. I also love the compact they come in...it's a very sturdy, matte black case with a full mirror inside.  The eyeshadow pans are also a very generous size and this shade combo is great for creating no fuss neutral looks.

Julep Feels Like Velvet Full Coverage Eyeshadow Duo in Coconuts and Cabanas.
Don't Leave Your Brows at Home in Warm Brown($24). I just received this in a recent Julep box and I love it so much, I wanted to give another one away to you guys! This has a stiff angled brush on one end and a little pot of a gel powder formula on the other.  The brush is perfect for creating natural looking strokes and the gel powder adds some hold and then dries to a powder finish and holds like a wax. It also clings well to the skin so it really helps to fill in any sparse areas.
Julep Don't Leave Your Brows at Home in Warm Brown
It's Balm (Plush Pout) Full Coverage Lip Crayon in Electric Coral Creme ($20)- This is a full coverage lip crayon with a moisturizing treatment core. The creamy formula gives long lasting rich color with a semi-gloss finish. This bright coral shade is so pretty for summer!

Brand New L'Oreal Products for Summer 2015

L'oreal has some exciting new releases for Summer 2015, and a lot of you have reported spotting these in stores, such as CVS and Target. I haven't seen them yet, but it seems like my area is always the last to get everything! Included in the Summer lineup are two new True Match Lumi products... Liquid and Powder Illuminators, plus Colour Riche La Matte and La Laque Lip Pens. So without further ado, let's check 'em out! (Photo credits: Lorealparisusa.com)

First up are the Colour Riche Le Matte Lip Pen ($9.99). Right away, these remind me of the new Maybelline ColorBlur Velvet Matte lip pencils, just without the smudger on the end. But since Maybelline is owned by L'oreal, that's no big surprise...they have a tendency to copy each other. These come in 5 shades so far.

100 Matte For Me, 102 She's So Matte, 104 Game, Set & Matte
106 Made For Matte, and 108 Matte-r of Fact.
Next up are the Colour Riche La Lacque Lip Pens ($9.99). L'oreal took it a step further than Maybelline with glossy pens! These are supposed to be highly pigmented color that glides on in one precise stroke. These have a glossy lacquer-type finish.
201 Lacque-y Charm, 203 Lacquerized, 205 Lacque and Roll,
207 Lacque-y You, 209 Choco-lacque
Next is the True Match Lumi Liquid Glow Illuminator ($12.99). These come in three shades to flatter all skintones from cool to warm. Golden enhances warm skintones, while Ice is perfect for cooler skintones. Finally, Rose enhances yellow, peachy, pink or blue undertones for a neutral option. This is L'oreal's first liquid highlighter, so I'm excited to try these!

W101 Golden, C301 Ice, and N201 Rose
Last but not least are the True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminators ($12.99). These are blush and highlighter compacts that come in warm, cool and neutral shades, just like the liquid ones above. These look absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to get my hands on these. I should also mention that I follow @hermakeupmemoir on Instagram and she reposted a photo of these taken by @allthingslovely29 who spotted them at Target. I'm heading there this afternoon to see if my store has them.
So what do you think of all this newness?  I for one am beyond excited to try every single one of these products. L'oreal is my favorite drugstore brand...it's just a shame that their prices have gotten so high lately. It really limits how many I can purchase for review.

Freedom Makeup London is Here

Makeup Revolution's newest project is here...Freedom Makeup London! The website just launched today and I'm definitely curious and excited about it because Makeup Revolution is one of my favorite brands. Freedom Makeup is a bit more serious, with black and white packaging reminiscent of Make Up For Ever, but I was still able to find several "fun" products in this line that I've put on my wishlist. Here's a few of my picks:

The new Pro Glow in Pink Cat ($3.75) reminds me a lot of Too Faced's Leopard Blushing Bronzer. This one comes in a few different shades as well, but this one is my favorite!

The Pro Butters Lip Gloss ($4.50) in Cat's Whiskers is supposed to be a creamy, buttery yet lightweight gloss. I was drawn to this pinky-coral shade...it would be so perfect for summer!
The Pro Contour Kit in Fair ($5.24) is definitely something you don't see everyday...most are too dark for me! There are other shades of course, but I was most excited about this one.
Pro Highlight in Brighten ($4.50) is a baked highlighter that I just can't pass up.  I love this shade for my cool toned fair skin!
Finally, one of the great things about this new line is that they offer "full collections" at a discount.  So instead of paying $4.50 each for their Pro Melts Lipglosses, you can get all 8 shades for $26.97! They also offer similar bargains with their mono eyeshadows and other products throughout their website.  These claim to be a "melted lipstick lipgloss with a high definition, intense shine". So yeah...I definitely want all 8 shades!

Have you checked out Freedom Makeup London yet?  Has anything caught your eye?

IT Cosmetics It's All About You! 4-Piece Customer Favorites Collection

IT Cosmetics It's All About You! 4-piece Customer Favorites Collection debuts at midnight tonight (6/8) on QVC as the Today's Special Value. It contains $150 worth of products for under $60 and features two brand new items! Let's take a look...

I was so excited to receive a preview of the kit from IT Cosmetics and I've been using the products for the past week, so I can share my thoughts on them with you.

This kit contains four full-sized products including my absolute #1 favorite concealer of all time, Bye Bye Under Eye, a new version of Celebration Foundation that now has SPF 50 (perfect for summer!), a brand new gorgeous Naturally Pretty Face Palette full of 4 must-have complexion shades, and a double-ended Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush.

I have been wanting to try Celebration Foundation for a long time now because it has amazing reviews, but I never purchased it for myself because I have dry skin and I'm always afraid that powders will make my skin look even drier. But this powder with peptides, hydrolyzed collagen, and anti-aging technology is meant for all skin types, even mature or dry skin, so I was so excited to finally get to try it. After using this for a week, I have to say, Celebration Foundation is like a miracle! It couldn't be easier to apply...I used the Heavenly Luxe brush that comes in this kit, and swirled the large end into the powder, then buffed it into my skin. It gave me medium coverage, which is more than I ever imagined a powder foundation would give, plus I was even able to build it to full coverage without it clinging to dry areas or looking cakey. It just looked so seamless and airbrushed and took less than a minute to apply. It's definitely my new go-to summer foundation and the fact that it now contains SPF 50 is just the icing on the cake.  In this kit, you can choose from Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, and Rich. I received Light and it's perfect for my skin.
Celebration Foundation SPF 50
The Naturally Pretty Face Palette is making it's debut in this kit. It contains four must-have cult favorite products to perfect, illuminate, and warm your complexion. It comes in a beautiful silver compact that has a full sized mirror that I can easily use to do my makeup on the go.
Clockwise from the top: Bye Bye Pores Pressed Blush in Je Ne Sais Quoi, Vitality Matte Bronzer in Warmth, Bye Bye Pores Translucent Powder, and Hello Light Creme in Radiance.
The powders in this palette are so soft and pigmented that they pick up very easily with a brush, yet have very little to no fallout. I love the cool pink tone of the blush and the bronzer is the perfect bronze...no orange in sight! I didn't swatch the Bye Bye pores in the photo below because it's completely translucent. It makes my skin look airbrushed and diffuses lines and wrinkles, so again, I was completely surprised to find a powder that agrees with my dry skin! The Hello Light Creme is the only non-powder product in the palette. It's a lightweight creme and I apply it with my fingers to the tops of my cheekbones, forehead and chin for a boost of illumination. It's not sparkly or shimmery at all...it just gives a beautiful ethereal glow.
Bye Bye Pores Blush in Je Ne Sais Quoi, Vitality Matte Bronzer in Warmth, and Hello Light Creme in Radiance
I was really excited that this kit contained a brush because IT Cosmetics' brushes are the best. They're so soft and luxurious and don't shed at all. This Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection brush is two brushes in one. The larger end can be used with powder or liquid foundation, blush or bronzer and gives an airbrushed finish. I've used it for both the Celebration foundation, and the blush and bronzer in this kit. The smaller end is perfect for applying concealer seamlessly to hard to reach areas.
Finally, a kit full of customer favorites wouldn't be complete without Bye Bye Under Eye concealer. This covers absolutely everything and doesn't crease, crack, or settle into fine lines, plus it stays put all day and gives me flawless, seamless full coverage. Not to mention that I only need to use a tiny drop the size of a pin head to cover my under eye area, so this tube will last forever.

With this kit, you automatically get the shade Neutral Medium which I was afraid would be too dark for me, but it actually suits my skin better than the Light shade because I have cool undertones and Light is too yellow for me.

Overall, this kit is a must-have, whether you're trying It Cosmetics for the first time, or stocking up on your favorites. It will only be available at the Today's Special Value pricing on June 8th, starting at midnight and running until 11:59pm, so head on over to QVC to purchase

T3 Twirl 360 Review and Giveaway

I recently had the opportunity to review the T3 Twirl 360 curling iron from iFabbo and I was beyond excited! I remember when T3 first landed at Sephora back when I worked there and we all lusted after their flat irons, hair dryers and curling irons. I remember finally getting a T3 flat iron for Christmas 2006...that was almost 9 years ago and I still use it today, and that tells you how well made they are.
So I jumped at the chance to add a curling iron to my collection....and I must say, this is the most beautiful curling iron I've ever seen! Let's take a look...

The T3 Twirl is a gyroscopic curling iron, meaning that it has an auto-rotating barrel.  Now you've probably seen rotating curling irons before, but what sets this one apart is that you don't have to take the time to press a button in the direction you want the curl to go...honestly, those end up taking longer than if you would just wind the hair around the barrel yourself! The T3 Twirl rotates in whatever direction you turn your wrist, so it's very intuitive to use. The first time I used it, it took me a few minutes to get the hang of it, but after that it was so easy! It basically turns the iron into an extension of your hand, so rather than having to turn your wrist over and over again, you just simply start to turn it in the direction you want your curl to go, whether it be away from your face or toward your face, and the iron does the rest.

When I first opened the box, I was surprised by how beautiful it was. It's white with rose-gold accents...soooo pretty! It's by far, the nicest looking hot tool I own...it makes all of my others look blah in comparison.

It has a 1.25" barrel for creating those loose beachy waves that everyone loves, and it also features a stay-cool tip and a shorter clip which makes it easier to release the curl when you're finished. It has Digital SinglePass (TM) Technology which constantly measures and adjusts the temperature across the entire barrel for accurate, consistent heating while styling- pretty high tech!

It has a single Go button that you press when you're ready to curl. Then all you have to do is start to turn your wrist and the iron will curl your hair for you!

The controls are also pretty simple...just press the power button quickly to operate the iron at a lower rotating speed, or hold it down for 2 seconds to allow it to rotate faster once you've gotten the hang of it.  Double clicking the power button allows you to select the temperature, which is measured on the iron in 5 dots, each one representing a certain number of degrees (the manual lets you know how many degrees each dot is).

Using this iron, I was able to get soft, beautiful beachy waves that were shiny and free from frizz. I love using this iron so much because it doesn't tire my wrists out and I was able to get my whole head done pretty quickly!

If you'd like to win a T3 Twirl 360 from iFabbo and T3, please click on the photo to enter my giveaway below and Good Luck!

A few days ago, I posted on Instagram about some new L'oreal True Match Lumi products I spotted at Rite Aid.  A lot of you have been telling me that you've seen these at Target and CVS, but I couldn't find them in either place. Then I randomly went into Rite Aid and there they were! So if you're having trouble finding these, definitely check Rite Aid!
I'm sorry for the delay in getting this post up on the blog, but my son and I both caught spring colds this week and I've been kind of out of commission a little bit. (For up to the minute store spottings, follow me on Instagram..I post them immediately from the store!). Also, sorry for the fuzzy picture...my hand was probably shaking from excitement, lol.

This new True Match Lumi collection is all about highlighters and features both powders ($12.99) and liquids ($12.99) in three different tones...Warm, Neutral, and Cool.

The Warm collection is called Golden and enhance yellow and peachy tones in the skin, and look best on someone who looks good in gold jewelry.

The Neutral collection is called Rose and enhances all skin tones, whether you look good in silver or gold jewelry.

The Cool collection is called Ice and enhances pink and blue tones in the skin. These look best on someone who looks good in silver jewelry.

I ended up purchasing the neutral Rose collection even though I have cool-toned skin because I was afraid that the Ice collection might look too white (plus I liked the Rose powder compact the best, haha).

L'oreal Colour Richey Le Matte & La Lacque Spotted at Rite Aid

Last week, I posted about L'oreal's re-release of the Le Matte and La Lacque Lip Pencils and I finally found them at Rite Aid a few days ago. They're $9.99 each, so I only got one of each to try, but if I like them, I'll get more. These came out previously in 2013 I believe, as limited editions and I never saw them in stores near me. So I'm really excited to finally get my hands on them!
There are 10 shades total, 5 matte and 5 glossy. Here are close-ups of the shades:

Have you spotted these yet? Or did you get to try them back when they were originally released? I'd love to hear from you!

Maybelline Baby Lips Gloss Spotted at Walmart

Good morning! How's everyone's week going so far? Guess what I spotted at Walmart yesterday (finally)-Maybelline Baby Lips Glosses! I've been looking for these for several weeks now and was excited to see them (although a little underwhelmed at the color selection). This is all six shades here, but I'm curious as to why the photo on the display shows a bright pink gloss with a green cap...and that color doesn't seem to exist?  Weird.  Anyway, let's take a closer look...

I'm not sure if the display was just understocked or if these have sold so quickly that there was only one of each color, but I started to get nervous when I realized that these are not safety sealed (neither were the ColorBlur pencils, by the way).  Seriously...this is Walmart we're talking about, we need safety seals! I figured there was no way I'd be able to pick up all six shades, because I was positive at least one of these would have been opened.  To my surprise, they were all untouched (yesss) so I will be swatching all six shades for you very soon.

What do you guys think of the color selection? Have you tried these out yet?

Maybelline ColorBlur Cream Matte Pencil Review & Swatches

Maybelline ColorBlur Cream Matte Pencil ($7.73 at Walmart) are brand new for Summer 2015 and last week, I posted swatches of 9 out of the 10 shades (I've since been able to get the missing one, so this review will have the complete set). Now that I've tried them out for a while, I wanted to post my thoughts on these and do a complete review plus more swatches so you can see what these look like on.  Let's take a look...
Maybelline ColorBlur Cream Matte Pencil Review

ColorBlur is a twist-up matte lip pencil with a smudger on one end for creating the gradient-style lips that have been trendy in Korea where you add color to the center of your lips and blend it out toward the edges for an ombre-style look that's darker in the middle and fades as it goes out. You can also use these all over the lips, which is what I did since I feel like ombre lips look ridiculous on me, haha.
The packaging is eye catching and bright and these come in ten shades that are, for the most part, brighter, darker shades so if you're into soft, more neutral lip looks you may only find one or two that you like.
Maybelline ColorBlur Cream Matte Pencil Review
05 Pink Insanity, 10 Fast & Fuchsia, 15 Berry Misbehaved, 20 Orange Ya Glad, 25 Cherry Cherry Bang Bang
30 Partner in Crimson, 35 Plum Please, 40 My My Magenta, 45 I'm Blushing!, 50 I Like To Mauve It

One thing I'm extremely happy about when it comes to the packaging is that these twist all the way down into the tube.  Actually, I should mention that I was trying to figure out how the heck to twist them up and down and it took me a minute. That's because you actually twist them at the base (where the smudger is) rather than higher up on the tube where I thought you would.

I should mention that these are not safety sealed so please check them before you purchase! I bought mine as the store employees were putting them out so I know they weren't touched but I noticed that the product inside had a strange looking texture that resembled coral...it looked like tiny holes or bubbles in the lipstick itself. But the first time I used them, this went away. I just wanted to mention that in case you see that texture...it doesn't mean someone has used it! Another reader had mentioned to me that hers looked like that as well, so I think that's just how these are.

Maybelline ColorBlur Cream Matte Pencil Review

The smudger on the end is rubbery yet soft and works well when softening and blending these out on your lips. I tried the gradient look on me and immediately hated it, so another time, I used the smudger to tone down one of the darker colors and it actually looked really nice. It gave it a sheerer, more stained effect like I just ate a cherry popsicle, which I liked!
Maybelline ColorBlur Cream Matte Pencil Review

The formula on these is beyond creamy. They're super pigmented and glide on with only the slightest touch with absolutely zero drag. That surprised me because usually matte lip products catch and drag on my lips as I'm applying them but these just feel like butter.  In a way, they have the same feel as L'oreal's Silkissime eyeliners, just in a chunkier tube.
On my lips, which are always dry, these felt comfortable and didn't sit in lines or accentuate dryness in any way (although in the winter, this might be a different story...my lips aren't too bad right now). They felt velvety and soft and continued to feel that way for several hours every time I pressed my lips together. They never really sank in, just sort of sat on top but thankfully they're lightweight so this wasn't unpleasant in any way. But because they sit on top, they do transfer quite a bit to whatever you're eating or drinking (or kissing, so watch out!). They can also feather outside the lip line, due to their slippery texture so a liner is a good idea. The majority of these leave a nice stain behind which increases the wear time by a few more hours. The only one that faded within 4 hours on me was my favorite shade, I Like to Mauve It, because it's the lightest one.

I apologize for the varying lighting in these photos. I always try to take my photos in natural light because it's the most true-to-life, but occasionally (like today) the sun was in and out so it changed things up a little bit from one to the other. And in one of the photos (third one down) my face looks greenish while my neck looks white...super weird, sorry about that!

Overall, I'm really impressed with the new ColorBlur Cream Matte Pencils from Maybelline.  They're the most comfortable matte I've ever worn and the color and pigment is just amazing on these. On the other hand, they do take a little bit of work to keep them from sliding off, but as long as you remember your lip liner (or clear liner such as Urban Decay's Ozone) you should be fine.

What are your thoughts on the new ColorBlur line?  Have you tried them yet, or do you want to?

Last month, I posted about some new Fall 2015 Too Faced products that are launching this month, including the Love Flush 16-Hour Blushes (see that post here). Well, I'm happy to report that these adorable heart-shaped beauties are now at HSN.com! They're $26 each, BUT I have a coupon code for you below that knocks them down to $16 each if you buy 2, so keep reading after the jump!
Love Flush comes in six beautiful shades and are in heart palettes similar to the Sweetheart blushes, except these look to be a hinged plastic compact, vs a cardboard container with a lift-off top.
Here's a quick look at the claims from the HSN website:
  • Long-wear, fade-resistant formula keeps your cheeks looking flushed for up to 16 hours
  • Pigment-rich, high-impact shade for a pretty pop of color for any skin tone
  • Buttery-soft pigments bond with skin and take on a weightless, suspended look.
Here's a look at the shades:
I planned to buy one to try but then I found a coupon code for $20 Off any order of $40 or more from HSN.com! So if you buy two, they come to $32 instead of $52.. that's only $16 each! So I bought Justify My Love and Love Hangover.
The code is 152616, and is for new customers. So just enter the code at checkout after signing up.

L'oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator Review and Swatches

L'oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator ($12.99 at drugstores) is a brand new powder highlighter compact that comes in three shades to suit any skintone. I found these at Rite Aid, but I've heard from readers who have spotted these at Target and CVS as well. Let's take a look...
L'oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator Review and Swatches

The packaging is so pretty...I'm a total sucker for rose gold anything. They come in clamshell compacts with a see-through lid and pretty rose gold accents. There are three available shades...Golden, Rose and Ice. Golden enhances the yellow or peach tones in warm-toned skin, Ice enhances pink or blue tones in cool-toned skin, and Rose compliments all skin tones. Since I have cool-toned skin, I picked up Ice and Rose.

Each compact has four complimentary highlight shades inside. There are no instructions on the packaging as far as whether you're supposed to swirl all of the colors together or if you're supposed to use a certain shade on a certain part of your face...so I wasn't 100% sure how I wanted to use this. I'm not the most creative person when it comes to makeup, so I usually like when a product gives "suggested uses" so I know what I'm doing.
L'oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator Review and Swatches

The bottom of the compact opens to reveal a mirror and small flat brush. This is one time when I actually don't mind the smaller-sized brush that comes with a product! I mean, I couldn't use this for all-over face application, but it works great for highlighting along the tops of my cheekbones and other small areas of my face.
L'oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Illuminator Review and Swatches

The packaging says that you can use this all over your face or as a highlighter and shows a little diagram of the areas to highlight. I can tell you  right up front that this powder is not one for using all over your face...I'll explain more about that below.

The Ice (C302) palette contains cooler shades of tan, off-white, lavender, and baby blue, and when swirled together, they give off a very soft lavender-white shade. In that regard, it sort of reminds me of that new Too Faced palette with the Selfie powders in it...there's a lavender powder in there that's supposed to give a soft, ethereal glow to the skin. But this palette has a lot more shimmer than the Too Faced one does, since these are actually highlighters.
L'oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Highlighter Review and Swatches

Here, I swatched each shade individually, then swirled them together (right side of the photo) so you could see what they look like combined.

Clockwise from left: Tan, off-white, lavender, baby blue, swirled together.

The neutral Rose (N202) palette has pretty shades of cream, pink, gold, and peach. Like the Ice palette, all of the shades have quite a bit of shimmer to them.

L'oreal True Match Lumi Powder Glow Highlighter Review and Swatches

I did the same thing here, swatching each shade in the palette clockwise starting with the largest shade on the left, then combined them all at the end. When swirled together, the colors make a light peachy pink shade.

Here I am wearing Ice on top of my cheekbones (all shades swirled together). It's very shimmery and noticeable which is fine in small quantities but definitely not all over your face unless you want the dreaded "Disco Ball" effect.
Wearing True Match Lumi Powder Glow in Ice
Here, you can get a sense of how shimmery these are compared to two very popular illuminating face powders...Mary Lou Manizer from The Balm and the Hourglass Ambient Light in Dim Light. See how chunky the L'oreal one seems next to the other two? Out of all three, the only one I wear all over my face is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder because it's so finely milled and smooth and the shimmer particles are so small they're not obvious. The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer is one of my favorite highlighters and even though I generally don't use it all over, it's still much smoother and less shimmery than the L'oreal True Match Lumi powder.

Overall, on the positive side, they're nicely packaged, the powder is soft and pigmented, and the shades are beautiful and are great for highlighting your face.
But on the negative side, I was not able to use these as an all over illuminating face powder due to the large amount of shimmer in these. A little on the tops of my cheeks, or strategically places areas is fine, but I'm just not okay with my entire face looking that glowy.
So what do you think of these new powders? Are they what you were expecting? Tried them yet?

Currently, these are BOGO 50% at Ulta, so you can get them both for $19.49!

Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush Review and Swatches

Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush ($26 at Sephora) is a new release for Summer 2015 and when I saw these in store last week, I just had to pick one up...they're so cute, not to mention different than any other blushes I own. Let's take a look...
Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush Review and Swatches

Stila Aqua Glow is described as an "oil free, lightweight, water-based blush in an exclusive netted pot delivery system."  So it's not a cream blush, it actually feels just slightly thicker than water! The liquid is supposed to be underneath a layer of mesh but my pot is so full that it's actually over the mesh screen right now.  Theoretically, you're supposed to push your finger into the screen to pick up just enough blush for your cheeks, but for now I just dip my finger very lightly into the pool that's sitting on top to pick it up.
The water-like nature of this blush makes it so easy to blend...it just glides across the skin and doesn't dry too quickly like a cheek stain does (such as Benefit's Benetint or The Balm's Stainiac). I had plenty of time to blend this in and get it just right. It even feels a bit refreshing and cooling going on.
Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush Rosewater

Aqua Glow comes in five shades, and I fell in love with this peachy pink shade called Rosewater. It's just stunning! Some of the other shades looked very dark and bright in the pot, which is why I shied away from them, but now I'm starting to think I should have grabbed one of those instead. This shade, while gorgeous, practically disappears once I blend it into my skin (and I'm really pale).  Here's what it looks like when I first swipe it:
Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush Swatches Rosewater

This is what it looks like when I blend it out...actually I tapped it into my skin with my fingers to try not to lose too much of the color but that didn't work too well either. It's such a pretty color, I just wish it was a little more pigmented.
Stila Aqua Glow Watercolor Blush Swatches Rosewater

I wanted to show a photo of me wearing it so you could see what it looks like on, but it wouldn't show up on camera because it's so light. So I ended up adding two more layers to get the color you see here (which is still pretty subtle).

I also don't find it to be particularly long-lasting but that may be because the color is so light. Even the slightest bit of fading will make this one disappear. I'm debating whether I should exchange this for another color, or just return it to Sephora because I really do love the formula...it's easy to blend, looks super natural and fresh, and gives a sheer wash of color. I guess I'll just have to go there and swatch the other shades to see if they show up better than this one does. Fingers crossed!

Lorac Alter Ego Lip Gloss ($15 at Kohls and Ulta) was recently launched as part of their Summer 2015 collection and I had to try one, especially when I saw the beautiful mauve-y purple shade Goddess at Kohls a few weeks ago. Let's take a look...

Lorac Alter Ego Lip Gloss in Goddess

Alter Ego Lip Gloss claims to give you highly pigmented, glossy color with a soft vanilla scent. They come in a round, clear tube with a gunmetal colored cap. The doe foot applicator is flat which I find helpful when applying the gloss to my lips...it covers them with a nice even coat.

Right away, I'll say that this formula is one of my favorite lip gloss formulas ever. I was just recently thinking about how lip glosses used to be so shiny and lately it seems like shine has taken a backseat to pigment. I've purchased several "glosses" lately that seemed more like liquid lipsticks, and I was like, where's the shine?? Well I'm happy to say that this one delivers the best of both worlds...rich, opaque pigment with a mirror-like glassy finish, plus no stickiness at all! It feels so smooth and hydrating on the lips and the yummy vanilla scent is subtle and not overpowering.

Goddess is a beautiful mauve-y purple shade and I've been wearing it so much lately. You can see in these swatches how glassy and shiny it is!

On my lips, this shade has a little more pink in it, thanks to a hint of my natural lip color showing through. I actually don't mind since it warms the color up a little and keeps me from looking washed out. I'm so pale naturally that very cool shades can look harsh.

As I was going through my lip gloss collection, I came across my L'oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche in Purple Prelude 403. The formulas are very similar...glossy, lacquer-like finish and a non-sticky moisturizing texture.

When swatched, they're very close...the Lorac Goddess is on the left, L'oreal Purple Prelude on the right. The L'oreal has a little more pink in it and isn't quite as pigmented, but it's a great alternative if you're looking for a more affordable mauve-y purple.

Overall, I am so glad I found Lorac's Alter Ego lip gloss! It's such a beautiful formula and I'm in love with this shade. I am definitely heading back to Kohls this week to pick up another shade or two.

Plus, when I originally spotted the Baby Lips Glosses at Walmart, there were only 6 shades. Then many of you told me you were seeing 12 shades at Target (I still haven't seen them there yet). I can now confirm that Ulta also has all 12 shades, and with the BOGO sale, they're only $3.37 each!

Here are all 12 shades- they're broken out into Shimmers, Cremes and Jellies:

Baby Lips Gloss Shimmers

Baby Lips Gloss Cremes

Baby Lips Gloss Jellies
I'm really hoping that some of these shades that weren't at Walmart are more pigmented. They seemed to only have the lighter shades so I'm excited to try some of the darker ones!

Urban Decay Wende's Contraband Palette ($38 at Sephora) is a brand new palette currently available to Sephora's VIB Rouge members (soon to be released to everyone). I'm a little surprised that they would release a new palette a few weeks before the new Naked Smoky is set to debut, but this one is a smaller, travel-friendly palette that Urban Decay's founding partner, Wende Zomnir. Let's take a look!

Wende hand-picked her top 6 go-to shades for this palette and also included a travel size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero.
The six shades included aren't new, we've seen them in other palettes before, but they've never been all together in one palette. They are:

Trick (light metallic pinky-copper shimmer with tonal micro-sparkle)
Smog (deep coppery bronze shimmer)
Reign (rich brown satin)
Deep End (bright teal)
Flash (bright iridescent purple)
Tornado (vibrant deep purple shimmer)

If you're VIB Rouge, you can pick yours up now at Sephora.com. Hopefully it'll be available to all very soon!

Too Faced Fall 2015 Launches Today

The Too Faced Fall 2015 Collection launches today with Born This Way Foundation, Love Flush Blushes, and the Love Palette! I've been giving you guys sneak peeks of these over the past few weeks and now they're finally here.  Let's take a closer look...

Born This Way Foundation ($39) is a new oil-free medium to full coverage foundation that claims to blur the line between makeup and skin for coverage "so undetectable, you can't see the makeup and you can't see the imperfections". Sounds incredible! I have a full size one coming to me in my Ipsy bag this month (I was able to snag it with my Ipsy points) so I'll be reviewing it soon!

The Love Palette($49) features 15 eyeshadows in shimmer, matte and pearl finishes and claims to give intense color payoff with a soft, velvety feel.  I need another palette like I need a hole in the head, but this is so pretty, it's taking some serious willpower not to buy it!

Love Flush Blush ($26) comes in six shades and claims to be fade-proof and smudge-proof up to 16 hours! My cheeks must eat blush because mine always disappears! I ordered two of these the other day on HSN where they showed up early, so I'll be reviewing these soon also.

What are you craving from the new collection? Have you ordered anything yet? You can see the new collection at TooFaced.com.
